Strawberry Shortcake No Bake Treat Bars have 4 ingredients, are gluten-free and take just 10 minutes to make! Happy Monday, everyone – I hope you had a nice weekend! The boys and I just returned from a trip to Washington DC to visit Ben’s parent’s for a few days! It’s always a great mix of fun and R&R whenever we head out east. Over the past few days Lincoln enjoyed catching up on some light reading, we went for several long walks in the sunshine to house-gaze, and even got to have lunch with our friends Kim, Dylan, and their adorable four month old son who also live out there. No trip to our nation’s capital would be complete without seeing some it’s signature sights, so of course we drove into the city to visit our junior senator’s namesake memorial.

Jae Berman Nutrition Happy happy new year everyone! It is time for the resolution speech. Even though the whole “lose weight” and “get in shape” thing is my business, I am not really into resolutions since most people set themselves up for failure. It is hard to watch folks fail but more importantly, I do not understand why we all set these big goals January 1, ultimately not achieve our goals and then beat ourselves up when it doesn’t work out… It just seems like every year it never works out – so why do it? Why not just set ourselves up for success? Maple & Hazelnut Encrusted Pork Sirloin Tip Roast + A Giveaway Halloween is getting closer, and before I start sharing a few spooky recipes, I wanted to share one last Porktober recipe for the month. This recipe features the delicious sirloin tip roast, a juicy cut of meat from the upper back that is as versatile as it is flavorful. This particular cut does best when cooked slowly, so I roasted it at a lower temperature for a longer period of time. I also salted it and rubbed it down with maple the night before to allow time for the flavor of the two to soak deep into the tissue of the meat. When I was ready to begin cooking, I let the roast rest at room temperature for 40 minutes before placing it in the oven, since a cut of this size will cook more evenly if is has been allowed to come closer to room temperature than if you put it in the oven straightaway from the refrigerator.

America's Nutrition Expert Cooks and Dishes School is winding down for the year and often times it gets harder and harder to figure out what to pack for school lunches. Sodas, juice drinks, cookies, hotdogs, and chips- all common school lunch components but none healthy. Over the past years, some schools have improved the nutritional quality of their lunches but it is an area that desperately needs more attention by both schools and parents.
