Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles So naturally the plot has been somewhat tinkered with when compared to previous incarnations of the Turtles and the original comicbook material. So naturally this means things don't make a lick of sense here in this movie. Here we discover that Splinter was not the pet of a Japanese man (nor was he a Japanese man mutated into a rat), instead he was rescued with the four turtles by a very young O'Neil from a medical research lab and released into the sewer. So this does tend to beg the question...why is Splinter Japanese? 'We're ninjas', 'we're mutants', 'technically we're turtles'...' There are various plot issues throughout but frankly I can't be bothered to go through them all and also you can forgive to a degree because the Turtles have gone through many changes over various incarnations. Their size makes things very uneven in the film, they are so big that fighting Foot clan soldiers is like a walk in the park.

Why the Jaws beach scene is one of the best in movie history It takes a lot of work to make something look so effortless. That's the takeaway from Julian Palmer, the creative director for 1848 Media, a video production company. Palmer explains in a video breakdown how director Steven Spielberg uses things like the color yellow, staging, scale, and camera angles to tell a story. It's all there in the beach scene in Jaws. Story-wise, the beach scene is simple. Here are some of Palmer's main points about Spielberg's style: There are elements like the repeated use of yellows — on a mother's hat, on a boogie board, on a buoy — that instill a sinking feeling in an audience. The boy's shorts are red, making you think of blood. There's a shot of the film's hero, Sheriff Brody, with the crowd moving toward the water behind him. All these elements work in unison to create the feeling of fear that dominates the scene. In a sense, Palmer's insight gives a whole new appreciation to that specific scene.

elllo #574 Movie Magic Nitiya: OK, so something about fun, actually what kind of movies do you like? Todd: Um, well, let's see, I like. I love comedy movies, and for me the most important thing about a movie is, does it have good dialog, does it have good writing, so I don't care about special effects, and stuff like that. It just doesn't interest me, and actually I don't like big Hollywood movies (OK) I think they're terrible. Nitiya: Terrible! Todd: Yeah. Nitiya: I guess a lot of adventure, like the movie like "Star Gate" and The beach" and, and "The Beach" was not good but, I like something which is so different, something which is about the universe, or something which is about rockets and stuff like that. Todd: So you like movies that re quire... Nitiya: Detective. Todd: Oh, detective movies. Nitiya: Exactly. Todd: Now, since we're talking about movies, India has a very big movie industry, Bollywood, (Yeah) do you like the Bollywood movies? Nitiya: It's great. Nitiya: Whatever I get. Todd: whatever you get.

Empire Features Like The Littlest Hobo for geeks, Quantum Leap was the kind of reassuring TV that made staying in a truly exciting prospect. Aside from a few two-parters and the late addition of an 'evil leaper', you could pick up this sci-fi classic at any point, watch it for an hour and be wholly entertained. Thanks to the exposition-heavy opening title sequence, the show's wholesome morals and the admittedly repetitive nature of Sam Beckett's weekly time-travelling adventures, it's a genuine contender for the most inclusive TV show of all time. The Boogyman (Season 3, Episode 5), aka the one where Sam met Stephen King and Satan. Leaping into the body of a Gothic horror novelist on Halloween, Sam has to solve two unexplained murders before anybody else gets hurt but it soon becomes apparent that the killer is not of this earth - spooky stuff indeed. An idea for an episode that was unfortunately never made had Sam leaping into the body of Thomas Magnum - better known as Magnum P.I.

What Makes a Western Great? - Great Western Movies Criteria for greatness in a western movie: Setting: It almost goes without saying that a western is set in the American west, almost always during the period of greatest western expansion and settlement (around 1840 to 1890). But that isn’t invariably true. Use of traditional western themes: Similarly, there is a wide range of western themes, many of which expand into universal human themes such as the search for family in an unfriendly world. Re-watchability: In a way, this is the Cimarron vs. Historicity—How true is it to its supposed time? Good introduction of non-traditional elements?

elllo Mixer #113 Best and Worst Movie Genres Thank goodness! I don't have to go dating so I don't have to see these movies. Thank goodness! Thank goodness is a slightly softer way to say Thank God. I finally graduated. gross I like scary movies, but not the gross blood vampires, monsters, spattering everywhere type. Gross is another word for disgusting. I know worms are harmless, but they are so slimy and gross. plot Action movies often have the same old plot. The plot of a movie or a book is the story or the action. The plot of this movie is so boring. go against the grain I usually like movies which go against the grain and maybe combine different genres. When something goes against the grain, it means that it does the opposite of what you expect. When rock and roll started in the 1950s, it really when against the grain of the other popular genres of the time. on your toes There's a little romance, some suspense, some violence and you are always kept on your toes.
