Daily Activities or Choice Board Template for Google Slides This new template for Google Slides for education is for you to use for daily activities or to create a choice board for your students. Choice boards have been a life saver for me, I am not an educator myself, and sometimes I run out of ideas or activities for my daughter to work on during this very particular time where we are confined home. And I must give a HUGE shout out to Karly Moura because, among a million things, she created the eLearning 4 everyone site, filled with goodies for educators and parents! Thank you so much Karly! Besides the slides for 6 activities or choices I’ve added a section where students can write about what they learned, or maybe you want them to write about something else, your choice.

How to Create a Presentation in Google Slides About a year ago I was informed by an acquaintance that Google Slides—the free-to-use, online, collaborative presentation app—was the poor man’s version of PowerPoint. This observation took me back a bit because I couldn’t understand where the animosity was coming from. I also found the critique unfair. Google Slides is a great program that allows you to create everything from workplace presentations to cookbooks. The only requirement is that you have a Google account.

Gmail is integrating Google Chat, Rooms, and Meet to take on Microsoft and Slack True to Google’s penchant for just announcing things right after they’ve leaked, the company has unveiled a grand redesign of Gmail for G Suite business users ahead of next week’s Google Cloud conference. The app isn’t so much “Gmail” anymore as it is a unified app for all of Google’s communication platforms: Gmail, Chat, Rooms, and Meet. It will be available as an “early access preview” to G Suite customers this week and roll out to all G Suite customers later this year. As for the consumer version of Gmail, it seems as though little will change in the short term. Google says that it is “actively thinking through how and when to bring this experience to the consumers who might want it.” Javier Soltero, who rolled in to Google last November with the mission of cleaning all of this up, characterizes it as an “integrated workspace” that should make it easier for workers to shift between these different modes of communication without feeling lost.
