Colman won best actress for her role in The Favourite and charmed viewers with a funny and tearful speech. Green Book won three trophies in total, including best picture, which had been expected to go to Netflix's Roma. Bohemian Rhapsody won the most awards in total with four, while Roma and Black Panther also won three each.
Boy, 17, Becomes London’s 28th Murder Victim After Fatal Stabbing
A teenager stabbed to death in West London following a fight has become the capital’s 28th murder victim this year. The victim, believed to be a 17-year-old boy, was discovered with stab injuries outside a block of flats on Union Lane, Isleworth, at around 10.35pm on Friday. Officers carried out first aid and paramedics were called to the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead a short time later. A couple who called the police described finding the bloodied victim on the ground after the fight.

Two senior Conservatives have said they are ready to resign from the party if it does not change its direction on Brexit, after three of their colleagues joined eight former Labour MPs in a breakaway group in parliament. The former attorney general Dominic Grieve and the former education secretary Justine Greening both said they would leave the Conservatives if there was a no-deal Brexit, as the three ex-Tory MPs said a third of the party could be willing to join them. Greening said she would stay in the party “for the moment”.
Juncker raises prospect of emergency Brexit summit next week
Jean-Claude Juncker has raised the prospect of an emergency summit of EU leaders next week to decide on a Brexit delay, blaming ongoing chaos in Theresa May’s cabinet. The European commission president said a letter from May requesting an extension to article 50, delaying the UK’s exit beyond 29 March, had not arrived overnight as expected. The 27 EU heads of state and government had expected to discuss the terms of request and come to a unanimous agreement on their response at a summit starting on Thursday in Brussels. But after a stormy cabinet meeting on Tuesday, a letter from Downing Street was not received by Donald Tusk, the president of the European council, who convenes the leaders’ summits.
