Kodak Recaptures The 'Moment' 09/22/2017
Smart marketing in the past led “Kodak Moment” to become a part of the vernacular. But in a time when so many people take pictures on their phones — and fail to print them out regularly — the idea has become a bit of an anachronism. Until now. Kodak Moments, the consumer-facing side of Kodak Alaris, is releasing a new premium photo-printing platform that will help people find, curate and print the moments that matter to them most. “People no longer [just] want to go into a store to print their photos,” Rob Smith, CMO for Kodak Moments, tells Marketing Daily. advertisement The new Kodak Moments app includes a functionality that searches for images on a mobile device’s camera roll to identify meaningful photos, and automatically displays them on Kodak Moments products for simpler ordering. “You can literally [make] three touches, and the product will arrive some days later,” Smith says. “You can find your way into it in very different ways,” Smith says.

Hier soir, Apple dévoilait iOS 11, la nouvelle version du système d’exploitation qui équipe l’iPhone et l’iPad. Et parmi les nouveautés majeures attendues, on a notamment beaucoup parlé d’ARKit, le nouvel outil dédié aux développeurs pour leur permettre d’exploiter pleinement les possibilités de la réalité augmentée. Il faut avouer que ça fait déjà pas mal de temps que IKEA travaille sur cette technologie qui colle parfaitement à son domaine pour faciliter le processus d’achat. Marketers are always talking about wanting to appeal to millennials but a number of brands are now taking this a step further and launching sub-brands targeted specifically at this generation. Earlier this month, Vodafone unveiled Voxi, a mobile network designed specifically for under-25s. It offers young consumers three SIM-only mobile plans, with free data for social media apps such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Dan Lambrou, who is heading up the Voxi brand, believes Vodafone needed to launch a new brand because it tends to “underscore” with this audience. “This audience is in unison when it comes to the way they use mobile phones. While this audience may be “in unison”, what is less clear is how this differs from other audiences. Making a mockery of segmentation It is that segmentation by age that irks. At the time of the launch, Marketing Week columnist Mark Ritson made it clear he wasn’t a fan. However where it differs is that it doesn’t exclude based on age.

PARIS: Air France on Thursday unveiled a new lower-cost subsidiary called Joon that will specifically target well-travelled millenials. A new medium-haul service will begin operating from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris later this year, with long-haul flights to follow in summer 2018. The French carrier unveiled details of its new service after resolving a lengthy dispute between the management and pilots over the establishment of the subsidiary. Joon is "especially aimed at a young working clientele, the millennials (18 to 35 year-olds), whose lifestyles revolve around digital technology", Air France said in a statement, without elaborating on what new technology would be deployed. The name was chosen "to illustrate a positive state of mind", it added. Joon is aimed at helping Air France compete with the increasingly intense competition from budget European carriers such as Easyjet and Gulf airlines such as Emirates. jul/gj/cb/spm
