Panasonic G7 review: 4K is the big headline feature of the Panasonic Lumix G7 – and it’s not just for videographers. Fuji X10 First Impressions While Kodak lost the plot a long time ago, Fujifilm in recent years has continued to produce some very nice small-sensor cameras. But its DSLR sourcing relationship with Nikon evaporated some five years ago leaving a vacuum for the company at the high end of the market. Then last year they released the X-100, and all of sudden Fuji seemed to get their mojo back. The X-100 has been a huge hit for them. Reading and Waiting. Rooftop Snow Storm #2. FujiFilm X10 @ ISO 320 Where the X10 Fits In Most very small sensor cameras produce fairly crappy image quality, especially at higher ISOs. Then there's the issue of viewing. But we're here to talk about the brand new Fuji X-10, the newest kid on the block. Central Park Storm #8. FujiFilm X10 @ ISO 200 The Laundry List A Question of Size Lens & Sensor Video

6 Essential Tips for DSLR Video The following two tabs change content below. Photographer who loves challenging and experimental photography and is not afraid to share the knowledge about it. Nowadays, it seems that the majority of DSLR, mirrorless, and even point-and-shoot cameras have video features. Of course, if your camera has video capabilities, you want to know how to make the most of it. Photo by Sebastiaan ter Burg The exposure concept is the same: you control the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed with small exceptions. Shutter Speed The shutter speed is what makes the difference between a jittery and a smooth image. Photo by Mariano Kamp For video to look smooth at a given frame rate certain shutter speeds must be maintained so that the motion is smooth. You can intentionally shift to shorter or longer shutter speeds to achieve certain effects, but in order for it to look good, it has to be done properly. The D-Photo | Photography inspiration & articles | Camera gear | post processing - Part 2 Amazing film photography by Owen Luther "An amateur from southeastern Pennsylvania who prefers to shoot with film over digital. I do own and occasionally shoot with a DSLR, however it has seen very limited use since dusting off my 35mm and acquiring a medium format system just under two years ago. Aside from slowing the entire photographic process down which generally speaking results in better photography anyway, I prefer the tangible nature of film photography and all that comes along with it." ~ Owen Luther For more amazing film photography by Owen Luther, you can visit his flickr... Technique - essais, objectifs, macrophoto, macrophotographie, photographie, macro, tubes allonges, bonnettes, flash, diffuseur, retouches, capteur, CCD, CMOS...

Our 5 Favorite Photo Gadgets & Gizmos: Get Creative with Photo Printing Inkodye Photo Printing Kit: This creative kit allows you to use wet darkroom photography techniques to create unique works of art on fabric, wood (or nearly any material). Simply paint on the liquid, then put a negative (or any object) on top of it and put it in the sun. The UV (or sunlight) develops it so there's no need for a darkroom. This starter kit gets you set up with everything you need to make a print: blue, black & purple dyes, four blank negatives, a fabric swatch, step-by-step video instructions, a test negative and detergent to stop the developing. You can use negatives to print pictures or use small objects—like plants, feathers, coins, toys, paper cut outs—to create silhouettes. The kit has a retail value of $39. Fuji X10 Photography by Jim Radcliffe My Photography with the Fuji X10Jim Radcliffe This Is More Like It I was so disappointed by Panasonic's GX1 that buying the Fuji X10 was somewhat of a no-brainer. It's quite obvious that Fuji, unlike Panasonic, has been listening to their customers and produced a compact camera a that ticks a lot of check boxes for those who want a "rangefinder style" compact camera rather than a Mini-DSLR type camera. They gave it a fast lens, an optical viewfinder, manual controls and a retro look that is sure to appeal to many. The Fuji X10 appeals to me on a number of levels. Pros It's small It feels good in the hand Control knobs stay where you put them. Cons It's small.. some would say too small Optical Viewfinder displays no info whatsoever AF sometimes indicates focus lock but the image is OOF 40mm filter size.. not readily available Proprietary RAW file format No delete button on the back of the camera Correction: It does have a delete button but not a dedicated delete button. So what?
