Shara Lambeth Designs: Crochet Chain Link Necklace Tutorial Hello friends! I have had many, many requests for a How-To tutorial so others could make a Crochet Chain Link Necklace, so I thought I ought to do it :-) These necklaces are simple, pretty & even practical, yep, they're baby proof! So here's what you need to know to make yourself a Crochet Chain Link Necklace: Crochet Terms in US, UK, Danish and German Unfortunately crochet terms are not universal, so US crochet patterns and UK/Australia patterns use different names for the same stitches. This is very confusing for a beginning crocheter, who wants to read patterns from English sources. Not only are the terms different, but in some cases the same crochet term represents a different stitch in US/UK terminology. The term single crochet only appears in the US version. By that you can tell, which one of the two crochet lingos your patterns is written in. I am a visual crocheter and prefer reading charts to written only patterns.

Gerry had to go and do rounds, and the kids did homework while I photographed the tutorial. It was a warm, sunny summers day here in SA, and the kids spent the afternoon swimming.... A visitor asked for a tutorial on how to join-as-you-go when you are crocheting African Flower Hexagons... here you are ....

Crochet Stockinette The Animator's Wife complains every year that Christmas comes before we even have a chance to celebrate Thanksgiving. Well this year I'm complaining that winter has arrived before I had a chance to enjoy November. I was looking forward to snoozing in my spot by the window, watching the leaves change colors and the squirrels pack away their nuts for the winter. But it seems as soon as Hurricane Sandy hit, autumn was gone and winter is here! And I'm not ready give up my warm spots in the sun yet.

smaller: Small craft- Zsa mask We are really excited about this cool hat project! It's easy enough for even a beginner like me to make so I am going to try and get one done for Christmas. You can find other great projects and get some crafting inspiration from the prolific and talented Dutch blogger- Mme ZsaZsa. Although the design looks complicated, it’s actually just a piece of knitted fabric with the sides stitched together. The ears don’t have to be knitted but are shaped by wearing the hat, and the eyes are openings made by casting stitches off in one row and casting them back on in the next row.

do you mind if i knit: Sewing up knitting or crochet with an invisible stitch. Hello! Would you like to know how I join all the seams of my knitting and crochet? You would?! A Crafty House: Knitting and Crochet Patterns, Crafts and Printables I have to admit, many crocheted sweaters out there look like something my great great great grandmother might wear (sorry to offend any of you crocheters out there). Yes, sorry to be harsh, but it's rare that I come across crochet sweater patterns that I would actually make and more importantly wear. While I think many designers out there are making improvements, it is still hard to come across fun and stylish patterns.

wonderfuldiy There’s really no such thing as having too many baby blankets — something every parent would probably agree on! This is why one of the most amazing gifts any well-wisher can offer a baby or toddler of any age is a stunningly beautiful handmade baby blanket – a genuine one-of-a-kind never to be repeated. But while there are thousands of different ways a baby blanket can be crocheted … well, let’s just say we think we’ve found the pick of the bunch! What you’re looking at here is a wholly unique 6 petal puff flower baby blanket, which is less a useful accessory and more a work of art in its own right! Any parent in the world would be blown-away to receive one of these as a gift and any baby would be lucky to have one to snuggle up with.
