The Winding Path, a photo from Zuid Holland, South Critiques | Translate v_vicky Hello Pepijn, it seems like a path from a fairytale!! I like the colours and the atmosphere. My regards Vicky foibles3 This is a classic shot. divail Bonsoir Pepijn, C'est un sentier qui dégage une atmosphère de mystère. tendzin (0) 2009-09-01 13:29 Well, yes, nice image but... has nobody noticed how all the leaves have *exactly* the same shade of green? These clues all point to this being a hand-tinted black-and-white photo. Excellent tinting on the trees, though. ambivalens lovely photo:) TFS fatma Pilote26 (154) 2012-01-31 11:25 Bonsoir Pepijn, Agréable photo, le chemin beau et le cadrage sympathique. chintudutta (32) 2012-02-28 1:29 Hello Agnostic wonderful composition specially the contrast between shrub and the path.lovely texture and curve.good work. blueaquan I wouldn't be surprised if a shining Knight on a steed would suddenly appear there! Alone with My Thoughts (15 photos) As a person who's always seeking a bit of solitude, I was instantly drawn to these photos. They're by a young girl named Lauren who swears she doesn't use Photoshop. In fact, the only editing she's done is change the contrast, saturation and sharpness. Each photo is beautiful by itself but put them together and a pattern emerges. When a photograph is not just a photograph !! Dancers among us New York photographer Jordan Matter’s “Dancers Among Us” project features performers from the Paul Taylor Dance Company performing guerrilla dance moves in iconic Manhattan locations Michelle Fleet, NY Public Library (JORDAN MATTER PHOTOGRAPHY / BARCROFT USA) By getting the dancers to pull off their difficult poses surrounded by normal people in everyday situations, Jordan hopes to highlight the skill of talented individuals who walk among us everyday. “I was struck by the skill of the dancers of Paul Taylor and through a friend managed to get guys and girls there to volunteer their time for this project,” Jordan said. Here: John Heginbotham, Central Park (JORDAN MATTER PHOTOGRAPHY / BARCROFT USA) “I was thinking about the recession and what that meant for talented people who may have lost their jobs. Photographing the dancers in candid situations has provided Jordan and his dance partners certain issues along the way. Jordan can take up to 100 shots to get the frame he wants.

Fox Village In Japan Is Probably The Cutest Place On Earth Apparently, Japan is covered in magical and irresistibly cute animal sanctuaries. We’ve heard about the bunny island and cat island, but there’s also a fox village, where six different species of fox romp and play together in a battle for your attention (and probably for your food, too). This magical oasis of foxiness is called Zao Fox Village, and it’s located in Japan’s Miyagi prefecture. For 100 yen (or about 85 US cents), visitors are provided with food, but because the foxes are not domesticated, they are cautioned against hand-feeding them or bringing small children. As is the case in the West, foxes in Japan are considered to be sly tricksters. However, some in Japan also believe them to have mystical powers or that hey are messengers of Inari Okami, the Shinto deity of fertility, prosperity and rice. Serene National Geographic Photo Contest 2011 - Alan Taylor - In Focus - The Atlantic - StumbleUpon National Geographic is currently holding its annual photo contest, with the deadline for submissions coming up on November 30. For the past nine weeks, the society has been gathering and presenting galleries of submissions, encouraging readers to vote for them as well. National Geographic was kind enough to let me choose among its entries from 2011 for display here on In Focus. sidewalk chalk guy sidewalk chalk guy «« back to gprime.net all material copyrighted by its original creator | untitled A Father Who Creatively Captures His Kids (20 photos) - My Modern Metropolis - StumbleUpon If there was a prize that could be given out to the most creative father, I'd hope that it was awarded to Jason Lee. A wedding photographer by day, he's used to capturing some of the most important moments in a couple's lives. As a longtime fan of Jason's photos on Flickr however, I think the real magic happens when he turns the camera onto his daughters. Sure, his children are adorably cute in their own right, but that's not what makes his photos so interesting. It's when he puts his own spin on their everyday moments that we not only get to experience our own childhood again, we're able to see a father's pride shine through. I was able to get in touch with Jason to ask him a few questions. Q: How did you get into photography? Q: How do you come up with such creative photos of your daughters? Q: How has being on Flickr helped you with your business? Q: Any inspirational stories you'd like to share? Q: Do you have any advice for aspiring photographers? Q: Any quotes you live by?
