Giant Amigurumi Toadstool Pattern! Believe it or not I have been making good progress on my list of unfinished projects. This bad boy was one that I had been consistently working on in between other projects for about a year (yeah, I know). This thing is huge! And I don't know why I decided to make it so ridiculously large; it measures about 8 inches wide by 7 inches tall. I will not be making another one considering all the time I put into it, lol. Wanna make a monster? * UPDATE to this pattern! See below! * Time for another tutorial! I made this lineup of baby monsters for my Basic Amigurumi class at The Knitting Nest. I think they're a pretty good beginner project because it teaches how to start crochet in the round, how to single crochet, how to increase, and basic construction and customization of amigurumi.

Springtime Wreath This is my design for a little Springtime Crocheted Wreath. The pattern/tutorial that I'm writing out here is for the circular green part of the wreath, and the general putting together of the whole thing :: you can use whatever flowers you like to adorn it with (the flowers I've used here are my Little Picot Flowers, pattern found here). I've hooked my wreath on a 4mm hook, using Rowan handknit DK cotton. The wreath measures approx 15 cm/6 inches across. Hexagon How-to My crochet Hexagons, I am LOVING them right now, can't get enough. For a brief spell I fell out of love, I got fed up with the fiddlesomeness of them, the fact that they are very hard to do whilst simultaneously doing anything else (like drinking cappuccino and nattering). They take concentration folks, but if you are prepared to concentrate then these will reward you handsomely.

Recycled Plastic Fat Bottom Bag   I present my plarn fat bottom bag that I crocheted using recycled plastic newspaper bags. You may remember me saying that it is difficult for me to obtain pretty colors in plastic bags for my crafting. Well thanks to a suggestion from a blogger friend, I asked my local library to save their newspaper bags for me. They have been giving me one pink and one orange plastic bag daily from their newspapers. Crocheting the Day Away: Easy Peasy Woman’s Winter Hat {Pattern} This hat is really easy! I am happy to share the pattern with you guys. It’s a perfect time of year to start making some warmer hats. I also think it’s great to have a pattern for the ladies since the internet seems to be taken over by children’s hat patterns. Materials:Bulky #5 yarn in any fiber you choose.

Crochet Hobo Bag I saw this bag and it totally drove me crazy! For days! Can you imagine? As alluring as it could be, I had to restrain myself from placing another order to Knitpicks.
