Knitted Bunnies « Jo so and sew

This bunny is so simple as it is made from a knitted square – any size is fine. (This one is in 8ply wool on 4mm needles and 28 stitches across.) With the same coloured wool (I have used contrasting wool here so you can see more clearly) and a very big running stitch – stitch across the middle of the square (fold in half if you want to be accurate.) Make sure you have a secure knot at the end as the thread will be pulled later. Vintage Fan Ripple Stitch Pattern pattern by Janis Cortese This pattern came about as a result of this thread, which I figured out from the photo linked in the first post. It would make a great afghan in DK-or-heavier yarn, and this sample that I’m working up in fingering is going to be a nice scarf. Done widthways, it’d be a nice stole. The sample piece in the photos is 10.5” (eight fans) wide. Six fans would be ideal for a scarf. It was done with a size E hook and KP Stroll Tonal in Foliage. UPDATE: I’m defining a trtr as a 4-tuple stitch here. BTW, if you’d like to sell items made from this pattern, that’s fine by me, but I’d rather you didn’t sell the pattern. Crochet Owl Pattern... I loved making the owl in my last post. When I saw the picture of it on Pinterest, I knew I wanted to make a few. But after searching for who posted the original picture, there was no pattern to be found. So, I decided to sit down and try to figure it out on my own. {hugs} Laura I used Sugar and Cream cotton yarn with a H/8 - 5 mm crochet hook. Start with a magic ring and hook 6 single crochet into it. Second Round - Chain one and then hook 2 single crochets in each stitch. Third Round - Change colors and then chain two. Fourth Round - Change colors and chain one. Fifth Round - Chain two and double crochet into the same space. (from right to left) ch 2 + dc, 2 dc, 1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc, 2 dc, 2 dc. Now, slip stitch in the next stitch, single crochet in the next three stitches and then hook two single crochets in the fourth, repeating - *1 sc in next 3 st, 2 sc in 4th st* hdc, dc + ch + dc, hdc, sl st, sl st, hdc, dc + ch + dc, hdc, sl st The beak is embroidered on with yarn.

Blooming Flower Cushion Here is my tutorial showing how to construct this wonderful layered flower and then make it into a Blooming Flower cushion/pillow. First of all I would like to say that this pattern is not my own. I found it via Two Butterflies blog. In this blog post, Jennifer shows her own creation and gives a link to the original pattern which is actually a vintage potholder design from the 1940's. The original pattern is short and sweet and written in US terms. Before we begin, a little summary of the basic stitches. sl st [slip stitch] :: insert hook, yarn over, pull the loop back through the stitch, then through the loop on your hook. dc [double crochet] :: insert hook, yarn over, pull the loop back through the stitch (two loops on hook), yarn over and pull through both loops on hook (note :: this is equivalent to the US sc stitch) To begin :: ch 6 and join to form a ring. Round 1 :: Ch 1, then work 15 dc into the ring. Round 2 :: Ch 3 (counts as 1 tr), then work 1 tr into the same st (as above)

Virkade lock Jag hittade en jättestor glasburk uppe på vinden. I den har jag tänka att förvara små nystan. Just nu ligger de i en korg men då ser man ju bara de översta nystanen och man måste rota runt för att se vad som finns. Även de två "garnhållarburkarna" ,som jag visade i ett tidigare inlägg, har jag nu piffat upp med virkat lock. För dig som undrar vad en "garnhållarburk" är så kan jag berätta att det är ett oumbärligt virktillbehör när man har två garntokiga katter och en nyfiken son, som alla tre är ute efter garnnystanet. Virknål:3 Locket: Virka 12 lm och slut dem till en ring med en sm. V1: Virka 12 fm rint ringen V2: *1 fm, 2 fm i nästa fm* x6 = (18) V3: *2 fm, 2 fm i nästa fm* x6 = (24)V4: *3 fm, 2 fm i nästa fm* x6 = (30) V5: *4 fm, 2 fm i nästa fm* x6 = (36)V6: *5 fm, 2 fm i nästa fm* x6 = (42)V7: *6 fm, 2 fm i nästa fm* x6 = (48) KLipp av och fäst tråden. Virkade ljuslyktor i pastellfärger Nu är förberedelserna inför katten Klars och lille G.s födelsedagar i full gång. Först ut är Klabbe som fyller ett år på söndag. Följ mitt tårtbakande inför det på min bakblogg. Med dessa virkade lyktor skall jag dekorera. Söta, och lätta att virka är de. Mönstret till mina virkade små lyktor, som är 5 cm i diameter, finns här. (Har du IKEA´s ljuslyktor Tindra och vill virka till dem, så finns fina mönster som passar till dem hos IA nyckelpiga.) Så fint med en virkad lykta eller flera virkade lyktor ihop.
