Hábitos de los adolescentes en las redes sociales
Son muchos los padres que afirman conocer el significados de algunas de las palabras más utilizadas por sus hijos, como 'tuenti' , 'myspace' , 'live spaces' o 'facebook' . Sin embargo, cuando se les pregunta por su significado se limitan a responder de forma vaga que "es algo relacionado con Internet". Todos estos términos hacen referencia a nombres de redes sociales muy populares y en las que los jóvenes participan de forma activa. Esta práctica refleja el cambio de hábitos que han experimentado los adolescentes en los últimos años: ya no se pelean por ver la televisión en el salón, discuten por la pantalla de su ordenador y, a poder ser, en la intimidad de su cuarto. Con el teléfono se cumple el mismo patrón: ya no se puede decir que los jóvenes pasen las tardes enganchados al aparato, sino que controlan la comunicación con todas sus amistades a través de Internet y mediante determinados servicios conocidos como redes sociales.

During the last months, Twitter became a fixed part of my online activities. It's a convenient way to stay in contact with people around the world. There are multiple ways to twitter.Edmodo is probably most easily described as being a child-friendly version of Facebook designed specially for schools. For the past few months I do admit to becoming a bit concerned about the number of pupils I was hearing about in school who are on Facebook - especially when I know that they will have broken its terms and conditions by lying and pretending that they are over 13 years old when registering. I do teach e-safety lessons fairly regularly but I always think that it's a fine line I have to draw between teaching them how to work with a site that they shouldn't be on in the first place (thus promoting it in a way) and teaching them good e-safety behaviours in general. I originally signed up to Edmodo two years following @markw29 's recommendation.
