Marijuana Growers Guide To Hanging Your Grow Lights and Ducting. We always like to make articles that are useful to brand new growers, and this is a good one if you are just getting started, because getting your lights (and their connected ventilation) properly hung is critical. Select Your Lighting System Here is a quick down-low on some of the most-popular systems 1. High-Intensity Discharge (HID): MH/HPS Probably the most popular lighting system, as a majority of growers agree that they get the biggest and best bud yield. However, these systems do emit a LOT of heat. 2. 3. 4. Hanging Your Light System For the purposes of our diagrams, I will use an HID system as an example, but most lighting systems will require the exact same steps.

Simply use S-hooks large enough to fit around the hang bar. Then, your local hydro store will have adjustable cords, typically called a yo-yo cord, which is generally one of the best ways to hang your lighting. Connect it all as shown in the diagram, and you can raise and lower your light as you wish. Intake and Exhaust. Stealth Insulated Attic Build.

Hey guys - We're still in the process of finishing our first grow room and I wanted to share the progress. As it sits right now the room is mostly stealth and we're still far from done. We have our first run of bagseed clones flowering right now under 1200 watts of odd MH ballasts and old bulbs we scavenged over the past few months. The construction process has been a huge financial strain so we're piecing it together as we go along at this point. I will admit that I grossly underestimated how much it has cost to construct a purpose-built stealth grow room in an attic that can cope with the hostile climate. The room is heavily insulated and carefully vapor-sealed. I will not be posting pictures of the entrance to the room to protect our security. I took pictures of the process previous to these, but they're a little too revealing.

Hi guys, it's been months since I was on here. It's nice to be backI gleamed an awful lot of knowledge from you lovely people and I hope this 'How I made a grow that suits me' is useful for others who have never built their own grow space indoors.. You may notice that I state lots of fairly obvious things in this little essay. No doubt all you experienced growers will say "Duh, of course!

" to lots of things but I know that sometimes it's nice to have the obvious things spelt out for you. My previous grow 'tent' was a clothes rail wrapped in an old blind and some of the white blackout plastic from greens. It was great. Cheap grow box with LED Christmas lights.

Cheap grow box with LED Christmas lights 6 years ago indoor growbox, LEDs, seed saving I have one major problem last year with growing seedlings, running out of space. I grow many different types of plants with various germination/growth rates and varied start dates. This forces me to make sacrifices for placement of my movable light and eventually forced to move some plants outside earlier than I should.

The light needs to be close to the newly emerging seedlings, but can’t be burning the more mature plants growing into it. My solution to this problem is a LED storage container grow box. With this I will have a portable seeding area and since LEDs practically emit no heat the plants can literally touch the lights without problems. It wasn't too rough a start b back in February, when temps were compliant. ...By late May, it was another story altogether - everything was lost. I'd underestimated what the plants could withstand, and $$ being an object, wasn't able to sort the environmentals in time to save the crop.

Currently, June/July attic temps are >124F at peak, and ~70F at night. The original room was merely drywall hung on a frame of 2x4s, and lends itself rather well as the skeleton for this updated room. I've purchased an A/C unit, and insulation - and the A/C alone has been able to bring temps in under 100F. I have placed orders for some R-30 insulation, and am in the process of finalizing the new design.

This is fresh ground for me - my last place was larger and A/C cooled within the home. 4' x 4' x 8' grow room in attic - first timer.
