Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson.
Welcome! My name is Brandon Sanderson. Before anything else, I’d like to thank you for your interest in my books. I hope you enjoy Warbreaker. In case you don’t know, I’m a professional fantasy novelist. My first book, Elantris, was published in some thirteen languages, earned me a Campbell nomination, and got starred reviews in Publisher’s Weekly and the Library Journal. My second book, Mistborn, is out in paperback. As many of you might already know, I was chosen in December of 2007 to complete Robert Jordan’s epic masterpiece The Wheel of Time.
How this Book Came About Warbreaker is something of an experiment for me. And yet, one of my main reasons for releasing said e-book would be for publicity reasons. That made me want to offer something new. That leads us to Warbreaker. I like to have a lot of contact with my fans, and as I contemplated releasing a new book (rather than an old one) on my website, I had a chance to do something rarely seen. My Worries I don’t think this is likely. Peter Watts' Backlist. O'Reilly Open Books Project. O'Reilly has published a number of Open Books--books with various forms of "open" copyright--over the years. The reasons for "opening" copyright, as well as the specific license agreements under which they are opened, are as varied as our authors. Perhaps a book was outdated enough to be put out of print, yet some people still needed the information it covered. Or the author or subject of a book felt strongly that it should be published under a particular open copyright.
Maybe the book was written collectively by a particular community, as in the case of our Community Press books. But there's more to making Open Books available online than simply adopting an open license or giving up rights granted under copyright law. The print books need to be converted to a digital format so that they're accessible via the web. While the books listed here use various open licenses, since 2003 we've focused on using the licenses created by Creative Commons. 1633 by David Weber and Eric Flint - WebScription Ebook.
