Bruce Eckel's MindView, Inc: Free Electronic Book: Thinking in Java, 3rd Edition

http://www.mindview.net/Books/TIJ/ As many of you have noticed, I am terribly swamped with email and am unable to answer programming questions. There are several people who have kindly offered to answer Java questions that you would normally send to me. Click Here for details. Electronic Book Format I have done quite a bit of work to create a nice version of the book in HTML, including the diagrams, preservation of most of the formatting, nice fonts, and color syntax highlighting on the code files.
This free ebook edition is made available by kind consent of my publishers, Ace and Orbit, under a Creative Commons license with certain restrictions attached. Peter Watts We are the cave men. We are the Ancients, the Progenitors, the blue-collar steel monkeys. We spin your webs and build your magic gateways, thread each needle's eye at sixty thousand kilometers a second. We never stop. We never even dare to slow down, lest the light of your coming turn us to plasma.

O'Reilly has published a number of Open Books--books with various forms of "open" copyright--over the years. The reasons for "opening" copyright, as well as the specific license agreements under which they are opened, are as varied as our authors. Perhaps a book was outdated enough to be put out of print, yet some people still needed the information it covered. Or the author or subject of a book felt strongly that it should be published under a particular open copyright. Maybe the book was written collectively by a particular community, as in the case of our Community Press books.

The new government in central Europe, called the Confederated Principalities of Europe, was formed by an alliance between Gustavus Adolphus, King of Sweden, and the West Virginians led by Mike Stearns who were transplanted into 17 th -century Germany by a mysterious cosmic accident. The new regime is shaky. Outside its borders, the Thirty Years War continues to rage. Within, it is beset by financial crisis as well as the political and social tensions between the democratic ideals of the 20 th -century Americans and the aristocracy which continues to rule the roost in the CPE as everywhere in Europe.
