One year later I passed my general test and became WB8JSQ which I held until 1981. September 23, 1974 I entered the United States Marine Corps where I spent my 4 year tour as an aircraft electrician on A6a and later A6e attack bombers. In the summer of 1981 I passed the advanced and extra tests. I applied for a new callsign and received the call KQ8M on my birthday, Sept. 1, 1981. I would like to also thank those stations and managers who have helped me get some old contacts QSL'd. I am a charter member of the North Coast Contesters. My present DXCC totals are: Mixed: 350/338 CW: 349/338 SSB: 347/337 Digital: 303/300 Challenge: 2526.
