Aromatherapy vapor shower disks tutorial.

Unfortunately with the decoration clean-up, finding space for all of the wonderful new gifts, and the fact that life doesn't stop just because you need a break, relaxing isn't the easiest thing to fit in. Hopefully you're still taking time for hygiene and showering (hopefully) and if that's the case, these babies will help soothe your frazzled nerves instantly. Supplies:Muffin tin & linersBaking soda (you'll need about 2 boxes)Essential oils (I used a blend) Mix about 2 1/2 cups baking soda with water in a bowl until you've made a thick putty. I ended up using about 1/3 cup water. I wanted my vapor disks to last through multiple showers, so I filled my liners about 3/4 full.

Pop them in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. After cooled, add 9-10 drops of your essential oils to each disk. These oils were yellow (I believe because they're not "pure" oils) but the color didn't bother me. Signature COLORS: VALENTINE'S DAY. As a single girl, I look to Valentine's Day this year for a release of "cheesy" energy. Sometimes you just want to be a dork. If you want to go crazy and be a little more sassy this Valentine's Day, try our EXTREME looks.

solid perfume pocket watch locket

I’m constantly struggling to master rudimentary hair and makeup techniques, and my one-time foray into the “subtle” art of perfume left everyone in the room with burning nostrils. This DIY solid perfume locket from artisanal perfumer Mandy Aftel is something I can definitely stand behind, though. Mandy only uses pure and natural ingredients to create her perfumes, and this solid scent can be easily applied with no risk of over-dousing. The old pocket watch appeals to my tomboy side, and I love its versatility; you can wear it as a necklace or pin, or simply tuck it into your pocket or purse.

I can’t wait to make one and give my feminine sensibilities a little boost :) Thanks for sharing this tutorial with us, Mandy! Read the full how-to after the jump! Creating your own solid perfume is extremely satisfying. Materials Instructions. Homemade deodorant with coconut oil. Ditch the TV.

Check. Make my own toothpaste. Check. Go poo-free. Sorta check (I tried it for a month, but went back to Yes to). Next on the list: make my own deodorant…and not be smelly. Well, the recipe below is a winner. It takes a little bit of getting used to the application process, but it totally works. The less chemicals I put in and around my body, the better chance I have to be doing cartwheels around the grandkids someday. Simple living takes baby steps. Wanna join me on the hippie bandwagon? Ingredients 1/3 c. baking soda 1/2 c. arrowroot powder 5 tbs unrefined coconut oil 15 drops of grapefruit essential oil directions 1. Application This part is all personal preference. I recently had a deodorant-making party and our first batch turned out very oily (I called it soupy). *Update (9/17/12): The original recipe used 1/3 cup arrowroot, but I recently upped it to 1/2 cup and like it a lot more.

Bath and Body Stocking Stuffer Round Up - DIY Ideas for Christmas Stocking Fillers that Scream "You Will Be Pampered!". I am generally stumped as to what to put in someone’s stocking that isn’t just candy and boring everyday toiletries.

Bath and Body Stocking Stuffer Round Up - DIY Ideas for Christmas Stocking Fillers that Scream "You Will Be Pampered!"

Not to mention, small but meaningful gifts are sometimes often hard to find since, in this case, size is an issue. What I do like to put into Christmas stockings however, are not just silly trinkets, but things that a person can use and get enjoyment from. So I always LOVE to include bath and body and spa themed products as part of the stuffing for Christmas stockings. Here are a few great ideas I’ve found for making your own bath and beauty products for stocking stuffers this Christmas.

Make them in bulk and distribute a stocking to all those you know and love and no one will fill left out. Holiday Candle Travel Tins! Let’s face it. Sugar scrubs are great year round, but they’re even more necessary in the winter as our skin tends to be drier in response to the drier air. Looking for other sugar scrub recipe ideas?
