How to write greek in LaTeX

The TeXworks project is an effort to build a simple TeX front-end program (working environment) that will be available for all today’s major desktop operating systems—in particular, MS Windows (XP/Vista/7), typical GNU/Linux distros and other X11-based systems, as well as Mac OS X. It is deliberately modeled on Dick Koch’s award-winning TeXShop for Mac OS X, which is credited with a resurgence of TeX usage on the Mac platform. To provide a similar experience across all systems, TeXworks is based on cross-platform, open source tools and libraries. The Qt toolkit was chosen for the quality of its cross-platform user interface capabilities, with native “look and feel” on each platform being a realistic target.

Enrico Gregorio's page (in Italian) contains a very good introduction to programming in TeX and LaTeX, a description of the most often used packages and an impressive list of LaTeX "horrors" and how to avoid them, as well as other goodies (everything is in Italian, mi dispiace). Juergen Fenn maintains a topical list of LaTeX packages that links to Graham Williams's TeX Catalogue . A great resource if you are looking to add some style to your LaTeX documents. Version 3.0α is now ready for testing! TeXcount is a Perl script for counting words in LaTeX documents. It parses valid LaTeX documents counting words, headers, formulae (mathematics) and floats/begin-end groups. To run the scipt, you can either download it and run it on your own computer, or you can use the web interface . TeXcount is included in the CTAN TeX/LaTeX archive, and thus included in several TeX distibutions. If you have TeX installed, chances are you may already have TeXcount.

The idea for a document covering the topic of creating screen based or online presentations came to my mind around spring 2000. At that time I had a few interesting discussions with Werner Heuser, who was also planning such a documentation project. Unfortunately both of us didn't find the spare time to begin with this project until recently.About JabRef is an open source bibliography reference manager. The native file format used by JabRef is BibTeX , the standard LaTeX bibliography format. JabRef runs on the Java VM (version 1.5 or newer), and should work equally well on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

More than one year without any release and post... Shame on me. LaTeXDraw 3.0 in on the road and a first beta should be released before the end of this year.
