How fitting that we are marking Women's History Month at KUVO. Dorothy is an indelible part of KUVO's history; we are so sad to note her passing, but so grateful for all she's been to the station and what she added to all of our lives--- KUVO member, supporter, vital life force, from the very earliest days of the station... For many years Dorothy, along with Saturday-host Gabriel, added the pledges, checked the totals, compared the columns and stayed as late as it took to get it right… Dorothy was a phone bank volunteer, a generous donor, a Milagro tour-goer, and a welcome addition to any party (she attended most!). When she arrived at the Volunteer Party in December, many KUVO friends were happy to greet her!

Rooted in bhangra and hip-hop her DJ sets range from Brazilian Baile Funk to Balkan Beats and everything in between. She is founder and resident of Basement Bhangra one NYC's longest running dance parties.
