Christian Bale reprised his role as Batman/Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, the third installment in the renewed DC Comics franchise and took in over $1 billion at the box office. Only a decade after shattering opening weekend box office records, Sony rebooted the Spider-Man franchise with Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and grossed more than $752M. Audiences across the world loved the 23rd James Bond adventure, Skyfall ($980 million), making it one of the most popular (and successful) Bond films ever.
