PABLO NERUDA - Love. Shane Koyczan at the 2007 Vancouver Poetry Slam. Poetry - Ela Barton. Ela Barton is a performance poet living in Seattle, Washington. She has been seen in Seattle Gay News, and at various venues in and around the Pacific Northwest. She has been heard on KUOW (Seattle's NPR) and CITR (Canadian Radio Station). Currently, she is one of the revolving hosts for Seattle's longest running weekly show, The Seattle Poetry Slam and a Performance Poetry Teacher at Bent: A Queer Writing Institute. Ela Barton also co-produces a music and poetry series in Seattle, titled Liner Notes. By age six, a child learns 2,500 to a 5,000 words, an average student learns 3,000 words per year or about 8 words per day.

I imagine that at four years old your vocabulary is at about 1,500 steps in a journey of a lifetime. I have written this poem before.
