Unity is Strength | Social Media Girlfriends
Guest Post by CamMi Pham There is an old Asian tale about an old man who was dying. One day, he called all his sons to his bed, and told the eldest one to break some chopsticks. The son strained and strained but nothing happened to the bundle of chopsticks. Another son tried then another one, but nobody would be able to break them.Image via CrunchBase So Apple just made it’s big announcement and I’m rather unimpressed. Will I buy the iPhone 4S? Probably! But I don’t feel this great pull. Usually I feel like, “I gotta have this NOW!”

iPhone 4S vs. the competition | iPhone Atlas - CNET Reviews
In retrospect, it shouldn't be a surprise that Apple released a half-step iPhone this week, instead of a revolutionary and redesigned iPhone 5 . Think about it--the real reason for the iPhone 4S is the same as for the iPhone 3GS : carrier contracts are two years long. The 4S isn't meant to be an upgrade for iPhone 4 users--it's a lure to get new iPhone users in the door, and you iPhone 4 folks will get your iPhone 5 upgrade just in time for a new contract.
The real reason there's no iPhone 5: The carriers | Molly Rants - CNET News
As expected, Apple introduced the iPhone 4S at its "Let's Talk iPhone " event on October 4. The news was underwhelming and disappointing to many who were also expecting an iPhone 5 . There's also the fact that the iPhone 4S looks almost identical to the iPhone 4. However, there's more than meets the eye, as Apple made a number of changes under the hood to improve on performance, including a faster processor, a more advanced camera, and a new antenna design. In addition, Apple expanded its family to include Sprint and a 64GB model (finally!).

Steve Jobs, from his early days of tinkering with electronics to today's groundbreaking designs of the iPhone and iPad , never wavered from his vision. An iconoclast who changed the way we do everything, from how we listen to music and watch movies to how we teach our children, Jobs died today. He was 56. "Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives," Apple said in a statement . "The world is immeasurably better because of Steve." Jobs, an Apple co-founder and most recently chairman of the company, had been suffering from various health issues following the seventh anniversary of his surgery for a rare form of pancreatic cancer in August 2004.

Smartphones are an addiction for easily bored people. They tell you sports scores, weather, news, and let you play games — all while you’re waiting that interminable 15 minutes in a restaurant before you get your meal. The thing smartphones can’t do, I’m quickly learning, is download a lot of applications over a 3G network. That’s a job for Wi-Fi, an electronic ingredient that’s like the soy supplement to a smoothie. 3G—or 4G if you get it— is the fruit-and-nutrition smoothie foundation; soy bulks it up.

Finally the Bay Area is showing signs of it's only other season: overcast, make you think it's gonna rain but not really weather. Yes, we Californians are true weather wimps. We complain when it is over 85 or under 70. It's just the way it is. The change in weather must have signaled my boss to change my *perfectly* balanced work-life. I've logged over 100 hours in the last three weeks for this one project.
