The Dollar Store Diva: Dropcloth Ideas Galore! In my previous post I offered an idea about curtains on the cheap. I received some stimulating ideas in response to the post, so I decided to see what Pinterest might have to offer. Oh, my. I have inserted a few of my favorites, but if your interest has been piqued, just do a Pinterest search for drop cloth (dropcloth? Drop cloth?).

You might find just the painters-drop-cloth-idea you didn’t even know you were looking for. Let the fun begin! 1) These lovely framed pictures can be printed directly on canvas dropcloth fabric Print on Dropcloth 2) O. Vintage Hanger Curtains 3) How about these no-sew curtains! No sew script curtains 4) Isn’t the soft simplicity of these book covers soothing?

Dropcloth Book Covers 5) Oh! Drop Cloth Tent 6) So lovely for any time of the year, but especially so at Thanksgiving. Give Thanks pillow. 7) One more “I-can-do-this” idea: Thanksgiving hymn traced on tablecloth with a Sharpie Drop cloth tablecloth And if these ideas aren’t enough, give this site a try: The Dollar Store Diva: Dropcloth Ideas Galore! $2 Charcoal Grill. Make a DIY Pebble Bath Mat. Just finished this mat to go with my Bathroom Redo. It has a peculiar providence, I was mooching around the CB2 website, doing a little window shopping and I spotted this fellow for $39.95 Me: 'Hey, I had that idea too! ' I just didn't get around to doing it! " My Sweetie: "So you're saying they stole your idea from inside your head? " Me, kinda indignant: "YEAH" Him: "Would you like me to make you a tinfoil hat?

" Crazy aside, here's how I made the mat. I used: 1 rubber Welcome mat4 bags of river rockssome contact adhesive All from the Dollar store. I smooshed down the glue then arranged the rocks. The only difficult part for me was to not try and arrange the rocks too much, I didn't want straight lines or uniform colour, but it's hard to let go of the whole symmetry thing. I haven't had any problems with slipperiness... yet. Tagged : bathmat, diy_version, CB2, bathroom, Cheap- Outer Space Themed Bath. I thought the glow water would be perfect for an Outer Space theme. I used two yellow highlighters to make this bath.

However, the water could have been diluted a lot more, and still would have glowed. I made the glow water the same as I did here, except that I held the highlighter sponge directly under the running bath water. When making glow water, be sure that the highlighters you are using are non-toxic. If using highlighter water in the bath makes you uncomfortable you can also substitute tonic water to give you a COOL BLUE glow. Another Option- You can also make RAINBOW glow water using non-toxic paint that is meant for kids to play with (click the photo for tutorial) Any way you do it will be a blast! The girls LOVED this bath! Jewel loved splashing the glowing water. And both girls loved chasing the space objects in the water! Rosie and Jewel had so much fun with this bath! " and "I am going to save so much money! " and "This will be SO easy! " projects. In the end, I wasn't saying those things so ecstatically or loudly, but I was still really really happy with the end result. First remember our guest bedroom? We attempted to use an IKEA Lack side table and decided it wasn't right for the space. But something was totally missing. I brainstormed a few options and landed on some sort of basket to hold a few cozy throws for our guests. They offer of softness and texture and something about them just makes me smile. So I decided to make one myself! The idea was simple. So, off to the dollar store I went. But that is what spray paint is for right? I will save the step by step spray paint process, but basically it was a coat of primer and two coats of matte white, left to cure for two days.

I did a test run of wrapping the rope around the basket. Then we just kept on going, around and around and around. 31 Cheap And Brilliant Dollar Store Hacks. 32 Awesome Things To Make With Nature. Rolled paper flowers {tutorial. Welcome to flower week – five days of simple and delightful flower projects. I could probably do three weeks of flowers because there are so many different ways to create them, but I’ve limited it to five of my current favorites. Before we get started, let me make a few disclaimers: 1. I find inspiration for projects all over the place {online, in shops, in magazines}, then figure out how to re-create them on my own.

Each of these projects are my adaptation of something I’ve seen elsewhere. 2. 3. Okay, so let’s begin. Here’s what you’ll need: :: paper {either cover or text weight} :: florist wire :: scissors, pencil, glue gun STEP ONE: cut irregular circle This circle is approximately 8 inches, but you can do any size you wish. STEP TWO: cut spiral Start at the outside edge and cut in a spiral fashion to the center. I like a sort of bumpy shape so that the petals end up a bit irregular If you aren’t so sure about your cutting skills, feel free to draw your spiral before cutting. Who doesn't love globes? Alex and I found this Replogle globe in a secondhand shop. When I discovered it had a cord and switch, I turned it on and apparently let out some sort of delighted squeak, which Alex teased me about later.

We reluctantly turned it off and left the shop. Got in the car and put on our seatbelts. Took off our seatbelts and got out of the car. Marched back in and bought the thing, since as the clerk said, "Everyone loves globes. " Have you seen the excellent decoupaged versions from ImagineNations? Silk Jewellery Pouch Tutorial (store your bling in style!) | Wag Doll. Silk Jewellery Pouch Tutorial (store your bling in style!) Ahh bling, the frivolous accessories that transform a plain outfit into a vision of loveliness...or more likely remain in a tangled mess in an old shoebox.

Jewellery needs good storage and practical ways of taking it with you when you're packing for holidays. So here's an oldie but goodie, the jewellery pouch. This little drawstring pouch opens to reveal a large central area to hold your chunky jewellery and bangles, and 8 little pockets to hold rings and smaller items. (Check out my 'Ring of Thundera'...it's a real diamond, honest...!) You can make the little pouch in endless colourways, using pretty much any light/medium weight fabric you want, but in this case I wanted to use silky fabrics, set off with a plain black satin lining. There are numerous tutorials online to make these little pouches, here's a tutorial on how I did mine. Read more..... Tutorial Cut out: Sew the buttonhole. Almost there! Giveaway : Damsel of Dainty. Damsel of Dainty is the epitome of romantic, delicate jewelry.

Inspired by nature and folktales, the sweet Inge creates jewelry that reflect some of the magic and mystery found in both. She designs and makes every piece, mostly from chain, lace and pearls. I love that her jewelry is both contemporary and full of old world charm. Although her shop is full of pretties, I have a weakness for the Curious Clémence necklace, maybe because we share the same name! In addition to her own shop, Inge has a lovely inspirational blog and an Etsy shop, and can also be found on Twitter. Visit Damsel of Dainty, come back here and leave a comment letting us know which item is your favorite. - Tweet about this giveaway = one extra entry - Blog about this giveaway = one extra entry - Follow OhTheLovelyThings = one extra entry(If you're already a follower (thank you!)

Anna Nemesi is a 25-year-old goldsmith/jewellery designer who lives in Budapest, Hungary. Her love for metals dates from early childhood when she spent hours in his goldsmith father’s workshop. Her family wanted her to choose another career for fear that she could not earn a living as an artist, but when she was not admitted to public university to learn psychology due to the very strict admission limits , she decided to try her hand at jewellery-making, completed two-year goldsmith training and two courses and set out to design and craft her own jewels. She is in love with metal. She works mostly with silver, but has on occasion used gold, white gold, and stainless steel.

All her pieces are hand-made. She designs and creates her own collections but also works on comission. Besides jewelry, she also likes to experiment, making various objects made of metal, such as wall-clocks, trophys, etc. She is inspired by people, music, atmosphere and tranquility. VIA: Anna Nemesi. Having survived a few craft fairs, each one has taught me something new. My ‘lightbulb’ moments were: managing to pack my whole display in a large WHEELY suitcase (woo!) , harmonising the display with colour and these two (lifesaving) display tricks, which I’ve recreated in the hope they’ll help someone else. A few nights before the fair I was really struggling with how to display my bow rings. I resorted to googling and found this great trick on Pinterest, which used fashion magazines. A stack of small vintage books I had were perfect. Another great trick for prominently displaying brooches, earrings or necklaces is to use a picture frame. I decided to create a quilted base so that I had the flexibility to hang earrings, brooches or necklaces.

I also grabbed myself a tester pot of paint to add some colour and unify the display – I used pine boxes and frames from Ikea.
