Twitter on Thursday marked the official opening of its new office in New York City with a press conference attended by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. “We are proud to welcome Twitter to New York City’s growing technology sector,” the mayor said in a statement. “New York City has always been a place were big ideas are born, and we are working to ensure it’s the place where the next great tech success story is written.” Twitter’s founder and chief product officer Jack Dorsey was also present.
