Teachers continue to use the Queensland Essential Learnings and Standards to plan, teach, assess and report on learning areas where the Australian Curriculum is not yet available for implementation. When Australian Curriculum: Civics and Citizenship is being implemented across Queensland, teachers can access curriculum, assessment and resources on the P–10 Australian Curriculum in Queensland site. As a starting point for decisions about timetabling, refer to time allocations and entitlements. Essential Learnings identify what should be taught and what is important for students to have opportunities to know, understand and be able to do.
