WIKINDX is a free Virtual Research Environment (an online bibliographic and quotations/notes management and article authoring system) designed either for single use (on a variety of operating sytems) or multi-user collaborative use across the internet. Current version is 4.2.1 (May 2013) v4.2.1 can be test-driven by following the 'Test-drive' link at the top of the page. Developed under the GNU GPL license, the project homepage can be found at sourceforge and the required files/updates are available for download there. A FreeBSD port (WIKINDX v3.8.2) by Martin Wilke may be downloaded from http://www.freshports.org/www/wikindx. EndNote EndNote is a commercial reference management software package, used to manage bibliographies and references when writing essays and articles. It is produced by Thomson Reuters. Features EndNote groups citations into "libraries" with the file extension *.enl and a corresponding *.data folder. There are several ways to add a reference to a library: manually, exporting, importing, connecting from EndNote.
