Back Story: My wife and I have some friends who moved across the country not too long ago. We've known them for a long time, and our kids are friends as well. I would like to investigate building a pair (or perhaps a trio) of WiFi Walkie Talkies.

Telegraph (from Greek : tele τῆλε "at a distance", and graphein γράφειν "to write") is the long-distance transmission of messages without the physical exchange of an object bearing the message. Thus semaphore is a method of telegraphy whereas pigeon post is not. Telegraphy requires that the method used for encoding the message be known to both sender and receiver.
