Dieser Begriff ist im deutschsprachigen Raum als Sozialer Landbau oder Soziale Landwirtschaft bekannt. Darunter werden jegliche sozial integrativen multifunktionalen Leistungen auf landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben und Gartenbaubetrieben zusammengefasst, egal, ob sie mit Pflanzen, Tieren, oder anderen natürlichen Elementen arbeiten. Im Unterschied zu ‚Care Farming’ werden hier zusätzlich zu therapeutischen Aktivitäten auch jene Leistungen inkludiert, die keinen therapeutischen Zweck verfolgen, sondern geförderte oder geschützte Arbeitsplätze, oder pädagogische und ausbildende Programme zum Thema haben. SoFar war ein länderübergreifendes Projekt, das die Verbreitung und Entwicklung von Sozialer Landwirtschaft in Europa unterstützen sollte.

The conference, held in Silicon Valley recently, brought together venture capitalists and sustainable ag startups in an effort to jump start a market for the regional distribution of fresh food. This week I take a closer look at some of the companies that tried to catch the ear and checkbooks of the high-profile investors who packed that confab at the Four Seasons in Palo Alto. In Febuary 2001, I read an article on the conservation and genetic integrity of the red jungle fowl by Dr. I. Lehr Brisbin, Jr in Barry Koffler's www.feathersite.comin which he expressed the fear that the pure red jungle fowl may be extinct in the wild. In the article Dr. Brisbin described specimens descended from a flock captured by Dr. To my surprise I found the morphological description matches a pair of jungle fowl in my farm which I hatched from a clutch of 5 eggs found in the forest reserve adjacent to my farm.
