SoFar ist eine Abkürzung für ‚Social Farming’. Dieser Begriff ist im deutschsprachigen Raum als Sozialer Landbau oder Soziale Landwirtschaft bekannt. Darunter werden jegliche sozial integrativen multifunktionalen Leistungen auf landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben und Gartenbaubetrieben zusammengefasst, egal, ob sie mit Pflanzen, Tieren, oder anderen natürlichen Elementen arbeiten. Im Unterschied zu ‚Care Farming’ werden hier zusätzlich zu therapeutischen Aktivitäten auch jene Leistungen inkludiert, die keinen therapeutischen Zweck verfolgen, sondern geförderte oder geschützte Arbeitsplätze, oder pädagogische und ausbildende Programme zum Thema haben. SoFar war ein länderübergreifendes Projekt, das die Verbreitung und Entwicklung von Sozialer Landwirtschaft in Europa unterstützen sollte.
We’ve seen what social agriculture means, awareness of the wellbeing of those who work within its ambit (in particular the weaker components) and the entire community. Now let’s try to understand why agriculture can improve the quality of life of those involved in it. There are various aspects that make it absolutely unique for each one of us and particularly suitable to help with the integration and training of socially weaker individuals :
