Yes, but it's not what you think. You can take a strings file and load it into an NSString , and then transform it into a dictionary using -[NSString propertyListFromStringsFileFormat] . This will provide you with a way to store your custom-translated strings in-memory. As for actually using that, you'll have to define custom translation functions. IE, you can't use NSLocalizedString() and friends any more. Fortunately, genstrings (the utility used for generating strings files) lets you specify custom function names : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6075158/can-strings-resource-files-be-added-at-runtime

Pinterest Joins Twitter And Facebook As The Newest Self-Expression Engine | TechCrunch

Get ready to start hearing a lot about Pinterest. From the New York Times to The Wall Street Journal to XOJane it seems like more people in the mainstream press are covering and integrating Pinterest into their day to day media consumption habits than us covering the niche tech vertical. To give you some idea of how hot this product is, know of any other invite-only beta that has over 1.5 million active users on Facebook? Despite the whispers of Instagram-levels of user growth and elite investor interest, the tech press hasn’t yet quite caught on to the Pinterest phenomenon. Why not? Well aside from the fact that founders Ben Silbermann and Evan Sharp are super press shy (and that women users, who are still sadly marginalized, are first on the bandwagon), the site touts itself as a “virtual pinboard” — and no one has any idea what that means. http://techcrunch.com/2011/10/03/the-self-expression-engine/

Sony Ericsson CEO: We Should Have Taken The iPhone More Seriously | TechCrunch

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Sony Ericsson President and CEO Bert Nordberg made a number of interesting statements about the iPhone, Android, Windows Phone and Motorola. Defending the decision to pick Android as the choice operating system for its mobile handsets, Nordberg posits that it was ‘the best choice they could have made’ considering its rapid growth, but also acknowledges that the company “should have taken the iPhone more seriously when it arrived in 2007″. Asked whether he would have liked to buy Motorola Mobility rather than Google, he candidly responds: http://techcrunch.com/2011/10/03/sony-ericsson-ceo-we-should-have-taken-the-iphone-more-seriously/
