ISOC - GRUNDTVIG project - Teaching Sign Language And The Culture Of The Deaf For Different Educational Groups. SynopsisBetter known by its acronym, SLATE (Sign Language Teaching) is an international project of adult education focusing both at the Deaf culture and at the pedagogics and the theory of Sign Language. The project is funded by Grundtvig 1, a Sokrates program funding adult education and other pathways in the EU. Grundtvig seeks to improve the quality and European dimension of adult education in the broadest sense, and to help make life long learning (LLL) opportunities more widely available to Europe´s citizens.
Description As its main task, the project has organised two pilot courses. The first test course was held in Turku, in October 2005 (level 1 - beginners).
