Cette petite île abandonnée en plein New York !
La nature n’en finira jamais de nous étonner. Cette dernière est imprévisible, et surtout lorsqu’elle se décide à reprendre ses droits sur les installations de l’homme. D’ailleurs, en voici la preuve : deux personnes ont pris le temps d’aller visiter la petite île de North Brother, située entre le Queens et le Bronx, à New York. En 1885, cette même île avait été utilisée pour construire un hôpital, où étaient soignées les personnes touchées par la variole et la fièvre typhoïd. Puis, dans les années 1950, l’hôpital fut reconverti en un centre de désintoxication. L’île fut complètement abandonnée en 1963 : mère nature n’aura pas manqué de reprendre ses droits en 50 ans, et c’est véritablement impressionnant de voir le tableau laissé en 2013.

It’s from his beautiful series entitled Barrio , photographs made between 1988 and 2002 in Pilsen, Chicago’s largest Mexican neighborhood, and the neighboring Little Village. The photographs that D’Amato made in those fourteen years became increasingly intimate; he eventually grew to know residents of the neighborhood and could then make photographs of people at work, children at play, families at weddings or parties, and even portraits of gang members.

réalisées Catherine Hyland. Cette série de clichés (et cette vidéo ) nous présente un parc d’attraction abandonné en Chine. Ce parc qui n’a jamais été terminé s’intitule »Wonderland » et il avait volonté d’être le plus grand parc d’attraction de toute la Chine. Un projet abandonné mais qui n’a jamais été détruit, il reste donc ce lieu étrange transformé en squelette vide de l’industrie du divertissement. MC Escher Water Drop
After two hours and about 150 shots, Redditor smsilton managed to take a relatively clear shot of a MC Escher painting through a water drop. His weapon of choice was Canon 60mm macro f/2.8, which he shot at ISO 640 and 1/250. "The hardest part was focusing," he says. "In the set up picture you can see a piece of string above the eye dropper. I would let that hang down off the eye dropper and focus on that, then move it and squeeze the dropper and the shutter at almost the same time.Earlier this year, David Guttenfelder, chief Asia photographer for the Associated Press, along with Jean H. Lee, AP bureau chief in Seoul, were granted unprecedented access to parts of North Korea. The pair made visits to famous sites accompanied by government minders. They were also allowed to travel into the countryside accompanied by North Korean journalists instead of government officials. Though much of what the AP team saw was certainly orchestrated, their access was still remarkable.

These candy colored creatures are actually the work of artistic duo Ralph Lagoi and Kate Lace, otherwise known as Lagoi & Lace. While studying art and photography at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, they decided to combine their various strengths in photography, design, art direction and styling to celebrate the power of beauty and fashion.
