There is much scope for the development of literacy and numeracy skills and many ideas can be amended for students of all age groups (Key Stages 2 -4). Various approaches will be modelled by NIEAS (Norfolk Integrated Education Advisory Services) advisers at the Olympic Games Conference in April 2012. Missed the tube – now what? Ask students to imagine this: You're a sports fan.

Ask students to rank the options, sorting the most attractive from the less favoured ones. Do this in pairs or small groups or for homework, then share results. Bingo health.
