Exclusive: Facebook censors pictures of children rallying against GMOs during global March Against Monsanto. (NaturalNews) In one of the most devastating acts of destruction of its own credibility, Facebook engaged in yet more censorship of Free Speech with the suspending of an account that posted a photo of children rallying against Monsanto during today's global March Against Monsanto. The picture shows two children of Natural News reader Andrea Lalama. They are carrying hand-drawn signs that read: "ORGANIC FOOD It's My Medicine - Label GMOs - Say NO to GMO" and After this picture was shared on Facebook by Natural News, Andrea's account was immediately suspended.

"FACEBOOK: You have been restricted from Interacting With Pages until Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 6:47pm. Subject: Oppose biotech riders I am writing to strongly oppose the biotech rider—currently section 735 of the Continuing Resolution (H.R. 933)—and urge you to ensure this dangerous policy rider not be included in FY 2014 spending bills.

Senators Tester, Boxer, Gillibrand, Leahy, Begich and Blumenthal have all spoken out against the rider, as well as other corporate “pork” earmarks, and offered an amendment to strike the rider from the Senate CR. Despite receiving calls and emails from hundreds of thousands of citizens opposing the industry-driven rider and supporting the amendment to strike it, the amendment was ultimately never voted on. Since its passage, even Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Mikulski has released a statement asserting her opposition to the “biotech rider.” Though wrapped in a “farmer-friendly” package, this provision is simply a biotech industry ploy to continue to sell GE seeds even when a court of law has found they were approved by USDA illegally. Why Labels on Genetically Engineered Foods Won’t Cost Consumers a Dime.

The biotech industry, led by Monsanto, will soon descend on the state of Washington to try their best to defeat I-522, a citizens’ ballot initiative to require mandatory labeling of foods that contain genetically engineered (GE) ingredients.

Voters should prepare themselves for an onslaught of discredited talking points, nonsensical red herrings, and outright lies designed to convince voters that they shouldn’t have the right to know what’s in the food they eat. Topping the biotech industry’s propaganda playlist will no doubt be this old familiar tune: that requiring retailers to verify non-GMO ingredients in order to label them will be burdensome and costly, and the additional cost will be passed on to consumers who are already struggling to feed their families. September 12th, 2012 Sean Cowan, The West Australian Copyright 123RF Stock Photos A world-renowned scientist has warned that one of the CSIRO’s genetically modified wheat varieties has the potential to cause a deadly disease that attacks the liver. In his report on GM wheat that is expected to be released today, New Zealand genetics lecturer Jack Heinemann, from the University of Canterbury, said the CSIRO’s technology suppressed an enzyme in the wheat which was similar to the human enzyme that produces glycogen.

Humans eating the wheat could find the technology suppresses glycogen production in their bodies, leading to liver failure. His report was backed by Flinders University biochemist Judy Carman and molecular genetics expert Michael Antoniou, from Kings College, London. The CSIRO yesterday revealed it had received approval from the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator for two field trials of wheat and barley with altered starch composition. GMO SALMON an abomination. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said it could not find any valid scientific reasons to ban the production of GM Atlantic salmon engineered with extra genes from two other fish species – a decision that could soon lead to its commercial production. The verdict clears one of the last remaining hurdles for GM salmon to be lawfully sold and eaten in the US and will put pressure on salmon producers in Britain and Europe to follow suit. Successive chief scientists to the UK Government, as well as science institutions such as the Royal Society, have endorsed the concept of GM technology as a tool for increasing food production in the 21st Century, but consumer opposition has so far blocked the approval of GM food for the dinner table.

Several government bodies including the advisory committees on the release of GM organisms and on novel foods and processes would have to review the technology before it was approved in the UK. Anti-GM groups last night raised concerns about the report. Monsanto's Dark History 1901-2012.
