100 Reasons to Mind Map
Le principal éditeur d'outils de mindmapping, Mindjet vient d'annoncer fièrement la barre des 1,5 millions d'utilisateurs payants. Outre Mindmanager de Mindjet, les outils de cartes heuristiques font florès : xmind, mindmeister, mindomo, etc. Que ce soit en standalone ou en mode collaboratif, cet outil est-il appelé à devenir mainstream ? Son utilisation est-elle gage de productivité ? Facilite-t-il l'innovation ? Et d'abord ça sert à quoi le mindmapping ?

Vous êtes fan des représentations arborescentes ? Vous ne jurez que par les cartes heuristiques ? C'est très bien mais avec un peu d'imagination on peut aller beaucoup plus loin : Cette mise en scène a été publiée, en septembre 2010, par Henri Boudreault sous le titre "Pour vous aider à démarrer votre année d'enseignement" . La métaphore "neurologique" est ici exploitée à fond tout en respectant un très riche contenu.

Si vous possédez un site web ou un blog, il vous arrive sans doute d'y ajouter des liens vers des fichiers à destination de vos élèves ? Un lien vers un fichier word (2003, 2007, bientôt 2010...), vers un diaporama Powerpoint, OpenOffice... (.ppt, .pptx, etc), vers un fichier pdf... Ces fichiers ne peuvent pas toujours être ouverts par les élèves, et par ailleurs, sans doute aimeriez-vous parfois qu'ils s'affichent directement sur votre site ? Comme ceci ? :

What did I do? I used an open source mind mapping tool called FreeMind to create a single mind map (pictured at right) of all the talks . I tend to take notes to keep myself focused and engaged (and awake — I often run myself to the ragged edge and can fall asleep far too easily). FreeMind works really well and has a very refined keyboard interface for data entry and node navigation. Even though it is still labeled “beta” it is quite robust and I’ve never had a problem with it.

In this 5-minute video clip, Tony clearly explains why mind maps have curved branches, the importance of only placing one word on each branch, and the power and impact of using color and images in your maps.
