This tutorial is for the plugin recoil available now for Modo 501. It is a free tutorial and you can download the free 3D scene for modo at the bottom of the tutorial. Recoil is a new rigid body dynamics plugin and I must say, a fantastic one that is well integrated into modo and super fun and fast to use. This tutorial will give you a brief outline of how to setup an easy scene with recoil and apply a nice stylized “bullet time” effect to slow down the time and sweep the camera in close to the dynamics. It’s a very fun effect and simply looks cool. To get started here are the requirements for this tutorial: Tutorial - recoil Dynamics Plugin - Bullet Time Effect | Ethereal 3D Tutorial - recoil Dynamics Plugin - Bullet Time Effect | Ethereal 3D

Read this first As you know, I like full screen mode when I'm working in Modo and don't like palettes on the edges occluding my view. The ever growing list of modo tutorial videos (eglomot!) The ever growing list of modo tutorial videos (eglomot!) Here is the link to my database version (this is a WIP, please let me know about any improvements you would like to see). I thought I might share my list of modo related (or modo-applicable) tutorial videos that I found on the web, both freely available or "buyable". I know that "google is your friend" (not!), but I tried to accompany each entry with a short info, that, at least for me, tells me what to expect from the video. I only want to include videos that I have actually watched and found helping, so videos that are only product show-offs or didn't help me at all are not included. This list will grow.
Matt Cox With modo 601, I released a free script that allowed you export an MDD file from modo. With the release of modo 701, I've decided it's time to tackle some of the bugs and feature requests that people have asked me for and release a new and improved version. This time, implemented as a native plugin, instead of a script. So I present... Export MDD for Modo 701. Matt Cox
Vertex Tutor Vertex Tutor Having our objects properly named is very important in order to get our scenes organized, whether we work alone or in a collaborative environment. C4D’s naming tool helps a lot in these tasks but I always wanted something similar but with more options. The AutoRename plugin that you can download freely from HERE at www.c4dcafe.com, [...] Very often we have to delete materials from our models, leaving empty texture tags that, 99% of the time, we want/need to get rid of them. While this isn’t a big deal when we’re dealing with few materials and simple models, the same doesn’t happen with more complex models with many materials in complex scenes. [...] This is a very quick and simple tutorial that shows how we can, very easily and fast, create our own scripts for resetting an object’s position, rotation and scale.
