Initially, i really appreciated the way Last.FM would chart my listening behavior. It provided new insights into my music consumption that were unavailable in iTunes. Over time, they became less interesting. The trapped-in-time snapshots fail to provide me with any additional insight into my behavior. So I decided to take a look at some tools that use your Last.fm data to make it more personal and insightful.
Unlock old memories by browsing the music of your past. Visualise your entire listening history, in one graph. When did I listen to… Sgt.
This is NOT your graph, but somebody else's. Fill out the form in the bottom to see yours. Let me explain this a little: Horizontal axis is the number of weeks in the past. Vertical axis is the playcount The blue bars represent the playcount for that particulair week quantifeid by the white number in the top of the bar.

Congratulations, you've successfully created your own musical tagcloud! Let's take a quick look at what you've got - if you don't want some music genres or bands/artists to show up, you can exclude them (check out 'ignore those:' field). Copy the widget code below and paste it into your Last.fm sidebar here http://www.last.fm/settings ('About You:' field). You can also share your music preferences in this last.fm forum thread . Widget BBCode (Last.fm / forums):
Last.fm tool: Create your personal Last.fm user tag cloud A musical user tag cloud is a textual depiction of one's listening habits, here based on musical social networking service Last.fm . The weight of a tag in the cloud is determined by the play counts of top artists in the user's profile, and the top tags for those artists, labeled as such by the Last.fm community. Inclusion of these tag clouds in a user's profile increases the readability, since now it is often unclear what musical genres a user is listening to.
