CANDELOR – Robust Global Tracking. We are proud to announce that ReconstructMe teamed-up with CANDELOR, our in-house solution for robust and fast object localization, to significantly improve the tracking experience of ReconstructMe. The integration of CANDELOR allows us to greatly improve the following aspects of ReconstructMe Recovery of Camera Tracking Until now, ReconstructMe assumed that the camera movement between subsequent frames is rather small. Violating this constraint threw ReconstructMe off the track and a manual re-location required the user to position the camera very closely to the last recovery position. While this mode works most of the time it can be tedious to find the correct position manually. With CANDELOR we can weaken this requirement as its algorithms allow us to determine the correct camera movement for large displacements. The video below shows tracking with CANDELOR enabled and directly compares tracking performance with and without CANDELOR enabled reconstruction.

Happy reconstruction! Creating A Multi-Sensor Setup For Full Body Scanning - KScan3D. From KScan3D Overview With KScan3D and a multi-sensor setup, you can perform full body scans in a minute or less. Depending on the speed of your computer and your experience level with KScan3D, processing the scans and finalizing the mesh typically takes from 30 minutes to 1 hour. PMD and Infineon to enable tiny integrated 3D depth cameras (hands-on) After checking out SoftKinetic's embedded 3D depth camera earlier this week, our attention was brought to a similar offering coming from Germany's PMD Technologies and Infineon.

In fact, we were lucky enough to be the first publication to check out their CamBoard Pico S, a smaller version of their CamBoard Pico 3D depth camera that was announced in March. Both reference designs are already available in low quantities for manufacturers and middleware developers to tinker with over USB 2.0, so the two companies had some samples up and running at their demo room just outside Computex.

These guys have so far announced the IRS1010C sensor with a 160 x 120 resolution, as well as the more powerful IRS1020C sensor with a 352 x 288 resolution. Comments. Say hello to Project Tango! Markerless Motion Capture for Clinical Research – Organic Motion. Clinical motion capture and motion analysis is regularly used for patient populations diagnosed with developmental disabilities and movement disorders such as cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, autism, hyperkinesis, brain/spinal cord injuries and other neuromuscular problems. Motion capture not only assists physicians in the pre-surgical or pre-therapy decision making process but also allows therapists to better monitor the progress during post-surgery rehabilitative treatment, all of which results in improved patient outcomes. Organic Motion’s technology takes this process considerably further by not only reducing the cost of doing clinical motion capture and analysis but also making it much more accessible and flexible. Organic Motion’s BioStage motion capture system works completely ‘markerless’ and is totally non-invasive and non-intrusive.

Organic Motion offers highly consistent, accurate and comparable data over repeated trials, across setups and across operators. Oculus Rift - Virtual Reality Headset for 3D Gaming | Oculus VR. Open-source SDK for 3D sensors - OpenNI. Kinect Resources.
