I'd played with a few of the units, but over the last couple of years, I'd come to the conclusion that the subject as a whole was feeling tired and outdated. Through the process of rewriting the curriculum, my aims were as follows: To speed it up: previously, it had taken quite a long time to move up the ladder of skills in our curriculum. To slim it down: because I was looking to speed things up, I also hoped to reduce the curriculum from it's current form. This Framework meets all of the UK National Curriculum requirements for the delivery of ICT for primary schools, but offers more in terms of creativity, collaboration and modern skill development. It’s also, crucially nowadays, designed to increase students’ awareness of e-safety and their responsibilities as modern technology users. Created by Matt Lovegrove with contributions from Steve Greenfield, John McLear, David Sheppard and Claire Waite. Reception skills list provided by Emma Chamberlain. Site Pages - Primary ICT leader. I've had a lot of requests recently from people asking me for copies of my long-term planning for ICT - possibly because the government has just announced that the current ICT National Curriculum for England has been disapplied from September 2012 as it has been deemed to be "not fit for purpose".
