Singapore Fashion Blog: DIY Tutorial Miu miu Collared chain necklace. How long has it been since our last DIY? *checks* HOLY S**T. Guess we haven’t been very productive, I remembered how some people told us they enjoyed reading it. Sorry. (._.) This time we have a simple DIY to do, it’s a collar with chains that acts as a necklace. I honestly don’t know what else to call it but I guess you get the drift. We’ve got the collared choker thingama from Miu Miu a few seasons back and that proved to be quite a hit and I guess giving our own twist on this thing might make it a little more interesting to wear.

For this we would need several items: Old shirt (or a new one which doesn’t fit your boyfriend’s ugly shirt. First, use the unpicker to unpick the stitch line which holds the collar stand to the shirt. Once it is completely detached, re-sew that line to keep the edges tucked in and neat. Optional: Try it on your cat for size. but srsly no, or it will do this: See what I mean? We’ve attached the chains to a separate holder(?) Attach the other side and voila! DIY Fringe Scarf. Another Modge Podge Upcycle

Since my initial wallet upcycle tutorial, I have been scouring the thrift stores and garage sales for another wallet to decoupage. I found this little envelope-style purse at a garage sale last Sunday. The design was simple enough, no tricky angles or curved edges. A perfect candidate for upcycling! The original purse had a gold belt-like detail along the edge of the flap. Before I could get out the Modge Podge, I removed the magnetic clasp from the front. I got out my little needle nose pliers, opened up the jump rings, and removed the chain handle as well. I used the same decoupage techniques I used in my previous wallet tutorial with a few little exceptions. I'm wishing I did that to the metal frame on the wallet I did.

Second, I didn't feel like messing with removing and replacing the grommet, so I just didn't cover it up. The last thing I did differently was to tuck the edge of the front under the folded edge of the back fabric. Vintage lace purse. Do you remember the brown leather purses I found in the thrift store?
