Their next stop was Made, a store specializing in work by emerging Canadian designers, where they were smitten with an unconventional light fixture called Shoe Toss. Designed by Jeremy Hatch, it had lifelike porcelain running shoes with lights inside and wires for laces, slung over wall-mounted electrical cables that resembled outdoor power lines. “It’s beautifully crafted and very witty,” Ms. Moss said. “It’s like an urban joke: when you live in a city, you always see running shoes up on the wires.”

Palomar5 was established as a non-profit initiative seeking innovation outside of corporate structures. They organized a six-week workshop in order to bring together young and motivated people from all over the world. This event took place in an old and empty factory building, called Malzfabrik in the south of Berlin. Within three months we designed a temporary architecture on about 2.000 sqm.

September 2011 / Inauguration of Vortext, Seoul, South Korea. Ron visited Seoul last week for the inauguration of Vortext, A 17m high spiral sculpture with 24,000 LEDs embedded into its surface. By day, bright red with subtle light changes on its skin. By night a shimmering mutli-coloured, multi-language public art piece. August 2011 / Curtain Call Installation at the Roundhouse. A curtain made of 5,600 silicon cords, suspended from an 18 metre diameter ring – a canvas for films, live performance and audience interaction.
