Today, the sincerest form of flattery is retweeting—the process of forwarding someone else’s tweet to your followers on Twitter. (I assume that you know about Twitter. If you don’t, take a minute and read this description at Answers.com.)

How to Use Twitter as a Marketing Weapon - Holy Kaw!

This is the script that I created for my “How to Use Twitter as a Weapon” speech. It illustrates Twitter’s usefulness for most consumer-facing industries though it is photography centric. http://holykaw.alltop.com/twitter-as-a-weapon-demo-script
http://blog.guykawasaki.com/2008/11/looking-for-m-1.html At 10:15 pm I discovered that I had not brought a Macbook power supply on the trip. I was in a hotel on Coronado Island, and early the next morning I was flying to an aircraft carrier off San Diego for an overnight visit . I doubted that the carrier had Macbook power supplies laying around, so I was in trouble. I posted a message to Twitter that I was in this predicament, and within ten minutes, five people offered to bring me a power supply. I took one of them up on the offer, and he delivered it to me within an hour. This illustrates the practical implications of a large following on Twitter.

With a quick click, choosing the unfollow or block features, your feed is forever removed from their life. However, for businesses small and large, the goal of Twitter and other social media tools is to build relationships, not tear them down.

How to Be Fascinating : The World :: American Express OPEN Forum

The primary goal of your social media activities—whether for your personal brand or your organization’s brand—is to establish yourself as a fascinating subject-matter expert. The only exception to this is if you are a household name celebrity like Lance Armstrong, Oprah or Barack Obama. If you are this level of celebrity, then tweeting or updating, “I'm at Starbucks on the way to fly VirginAmerica to Vegas” is cool. For the rest of us, the challenge is to achieve a consistent level of fascinating information about your area of expertise. The answer is simple.
Now comes the hard part: What kind of Twitter user are you? To make Twitter an effective tool, you need to be a Brand, Maven, or Mensch. To go even further, you need to be able to adopt the roles of Brand, Maven, Mensch, and a touch of the Smore, and that is truly an art. http://www.openforum.com/idea-hub/topics/the-world/article/the-six-twitter-types-guy-kawasaki
