Learn how to incorporate inquiry-based scientific investigations into your elementary or middle school science curriculum through the Inquiry Matters onsite workshop. This hands-on workshop, given by authors of Inquiry in Action engages teachers in the elements of inquiry. What will I learn in the Inquiry Matters workshop? Inquiry Matters workshop participants experience the process of scientific discovery as they contribute their own ideas, help design experiments, and discuss possible explanations for their observations.

All activities cover important physical science concepts taught in grades 3 through 8 and can easily be integrated into any curriculum. Workshop participants will: Organize a workshop in your area Occasionally, we conduct on-site workshops. Attend a session Workshops are usually held at the following science education conferences this year. Siemens STEM - Resources. Siemens STEM - Webinars. STEM is Now, STEM is How Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 1pm ET Presented by Discovery Education and Scott Didra We often hear of amazing things happening in STEM classrooms across the country.

And, we're often asked to share these exemplars to provide guidance in achieving a shared STEM education vision. Join our live webcast to see one vision of a STEM program. Your students will witness the creative environment inside "The Firm," also known as Scott Didra's classroom. They will meet students that are using technology to apply mathematical and scientific concepts through engineering design, modeling and building of useful structures. Siemens STEM - Understanding the E in STEM. Distance Learning | Viewpoint Page 3 of 4 Flipping To Adapt to Multiple Learning Styles at Minnesota State University The Power of Flipping I am very satisfied with the flipped classroom model I implemented.

Using my existing digital resources, I was able to effectively target my students in such a way that their achievement was no longer tied to being lucky enough to fall within a specific learning style. After the semester was complete, I analyzed data collected from my chemistry students who participated in the flipped model and compared it to the research findings of my original work with the traditional classroom. My analysis focused on correlations between student learning styles and the ACS exam scores. Additionally, through my data analysis, I found that the flipped classroom model proved effective across all learning styles when examining test scores compared to the traditional method.

As such, a student in the flipped course stated, "I really enjoyed the format of this course. Share My Lesson - Free K-12 Resources By Teachers, For Teachers.
