Midnight Research Labs
This is a treemap graph that shows the binary section sizes for all running user-space processes on a linux box (Ubuntu 9.10). The size of each area corresponds with the size of memory each section uses. This in no way reflects the actual physical memory layout, it’s merely a representation of the relative sizes of each of the sections of the binary. The boxes in bold show entire process space (labelled where possible), and the differently colored sub-boxes are each of the sections for the process. The legend on the left is sorted such that the largest average sections sizes are at the top of the list.

This talk was given in Imaginatica 09 , as well as in FIST Conference Barcelona last March 6th, so it was first time for me to give two talks the same day on different cities. I didn´t plan it like this, but these things happen ... However, I couldn´t be more satisfied with the results. Both talks were a real success, having more than 200 people attending counting both. After months of development, bug fixes, upgrades, and the addition of 42 new tools, was announced the full release of BackTrack 5 R2 available for download now. Running custom-built 3.2.6 kernel with the best wireless support available, this is fastest and best release of BackTrack yet. In the past few weeks, after flood of submissions to BackTrack Redmine Tracker with submissions for many new tools and dozens of packages that needed to be updated and this helped to make this one of the strongest releases we’ve ever had.
