Finds the least busy time to visit the museums, galleries and theatres of London. It states the quietest day and provides a glanceable graph to judge the relative popularity of different days. The site is intended to show the data in the simplest possible way with no unnecessary detail. When Should I Visit? Antisocial Software The data used to calculate when museums are quiet is gathered from foursquare. A small cron job checks the /herenow endpoint in the foursquare api a few times an hour. Improvements The advantage of using foursquare is that it is not tied to the institutions listed. To make it more accurate in future I could also collect data from gowalla and facebook or allow self reporting from venues.

This holiday, we wanted to enable the Chrome community to work together for a good cause. Starting today, we invite you to support five worthy causes by counting and “donating” the tabs you open in Chrome. Everyone’s total tabs will determine a charitable donation made on behalf of the Chrome community, up to one million dollars. Here's what your tabs can do: 10 tabs = 1 tree planted10 tabs = 1 book published and donated25 tabs = 1 vaccination treatment provided100 tabs = 1 square foot of shelter built200 tabs = 1 person's clean water for a yearTo find out more about this effort and the organizations we're partnering with, visit google.com/chrome/intl/en/p/cause/. Today I am once again flattered to be speaking at Boulder Digital Works with the likes of Gareth Kay, Matt Howell and all the other incredibly smart folks who have welcomed me into the digital fold. I think of myself as an advertising refugee and a digital immigrant. Not sure if I qualify yet for full citizenship (can’t really code) but I’m working on it. What’s amazing to me is the openness of the digital community. I have been embraced on Twitter, at SxSWi, at SoDa meetings, by IAB (where I’m hoping to make a contribution to the future of online advertising) and here at Boulder Digital Works. Had the advertising community learned earlier to be as open and collaborative as their digital counterparts it would be in a lot better shape than it is now and all those people still spending their energy defending traditional messages could instead be focused on inventing and creating new experiences and ways to tell stories.

Who ? The US Government. What’s the utility ? The US Government created a very interesting and complete mobile application portal. These app seem very useful even if most of them are quite simple.
