"Ye Elves of the Hills, Brooks, Standing Lakes, and Groves" Au retour de la peche, by Raynald Leclerc. Peasant Woman. Notice, I did not say I wish for a horse, or why can't I have a horse - instead I chose a much stronger argument. Next, I did a little brainstorming and thought about how I can get access to horses. At that time my family owned a vacation home at the Caspian Sea and since we spend all of the summer there, I knew of people who rented horses. However, my little monthly allowance was not nearly enough for the hours I wanted to spend on horseback, so I needed to get very active to make this wish come true.

I did some math and came up with about how much was needed to get my riding experience in gear and wrote down all the services I could provide for a fee of course, to get me closer to my goal. I never worked as much or as hard doing odd jobs that year, but come summer I took my first lesson. Now you could argue that I did not get my own horse and just some rental, but for a 15 year old it was a huge accomplishment.
