Alexander Toshev. I am a Research Scientist working primarily in the field of computer vision.

Alexander Toshev

Prior to Google I was a Ph.D. Candidate in Computer and Information Science at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, University of Pennsylvania. where I worked on shape-based recognition; co-segmentation for image matching; parsing of 3D Range Imagery. Prior to Philadelphia, I did my undergraduate studies at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany.

I spent six months in the Spring of 2005 at INRIA, France, working on my diploma thesis on activity recognition. My research interests include scene understanding, visual attention and image aesthetics analysis. News My paper with Florent Perronnin, "Generalized Max Pooling", has been accepted at CVPR, 2014. Short Bio. Researcher: Machine Learning for Transportation / Jobs / About XRCE / Xerox Research Centre Europe - XRCE. The Machine Learning for Services group at Xerox Research Centre Europe conducts fundamental and applied research in machine learning and computational statistics, with applications in knowledge representation, transportation, and mechanism design.

We are opening a PostDoc position in the group aimed at supporting XRCE activities in modeling and optimization of transportation systems. Jointly with the Advanced Development Lab at XRCE, we develop a platform enabling the rapid deployment of components enabling novel services for travellers and transport operators. The postdoc position will conduct fundamental research, but also have the opportunity to work directly with real customer data and see the results of research used by Xerox business groups and our clients. Teaching. Paolo Favaro received the Laurea degree (BSc+MSc) from Università di Padova, Italy in 1999, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Washington University in St.

Stefan Roth - Research Overview. My research interests lie in the areas of computer vision as well as machine learning and pattern recognition. I am particularly interested in statistical models and inference algorithms that relate to problems of visual inference. The work of my research group focuses on four particular areas: Probabilistic models of low-level vision We study probabilistic models of photographic images, as well as those of other dense scene attributes, with the aim of capturing their key spatial statistics accurately. A particular focus of our work is on hig h-order random field models, such as Fields of Experts, that capture the spatial properties of images in extended pixel neighborhoods and can be trained on example data. Recent publications: CVPR 2010, CVPR 2011, DAGM 2012, CVPR 2013, CVPR 2014 Image motion estimation Our research on image motion aims to provide robust techniques for accurate 2D and 3D motion estimation from image sequences (optical flow and 3D scene flow).
