Aqua. Design. Home | Advice to Sink in Slowly. ART! The other night a few of us painted at an event called “Art After Dark” at the Honolulu Museum of Art. The best part was when this little girl fearlessly walked up on the stage and joined in on the action. Photo by Lucky, he painted the skull. More photos below (in reverse order). Each gourd lamp is made from a gourd brought from Senegal and their exotic design is achieved after carefully selecting dried shells of gourd fruit and drilling patterns into them. Different patterns are designed by carving deeper or shallower into layers of wood. This allows light to pass through each carving, creating beautiful patterns of light on the walls. The gourds are all unique and the perforations differ in diameter, exposing light through its intricate patterns.

Scrabble Tile Pendant | Here’s what you’ll need: Wooden Scrabble Tiles (you can get these on ebay, or just get the game and cannabalize it…or if you live around me, I already did that, and I’m sure I have a few I can spare)Super Glue Diamond Glaze ModPodge or Tacky Glue Jewelry Bails (the little metal loop that you thread a necklace chain through)Emery board or sandpaper Scrapbook Paper Scissors or Craft Knife (exacto blade) Paintbrush or sponge brush Here goes… Step 1: Glue the bail (little metal loop) to the back of your tile.

I use super glue to glue my bails on most of the time, but tacky glue also works, as does gorilla glue. If you’re using glue that takes a while to dry, try propping the bail up with something, so you can leave it to dry. Step 2: While the glue is drying, cut out a piece of scrapbook paper just a little bit bigger than the scrabble tile. Make sure to press all the bubbles out, if you get any.

Step 3: Using your craft knife, trim the excess paper from around the tile. Last step: Let it dry! Recycle pizza boxes into wall art. Art for pizza lovers! BTW our pizza is delivered with a wax paper insert on the bottom of the box, so the boxes were clean. I wouldn't recommend using pizza boxes with food stains! I already had this idea in mind, but was going to use polystyrene blocks.

But why buy polystyrene when I can recycle pizza boxes and create art for my home, and for the kids' rooms as well. ABOVE: Use larger pizza boxes to make unique art for a child's bedroom.
