Three guys traveled to 11 different countries over 44 days, using 18 flights and covering 38,000 miles, and filmed almost a terabyte of video footage of the experience. Commissioned by STA Travel Australia, Director Rick Mereki , Director of Photography Tim White , and actor Andrew Lees took 3 ambitious concepts (movement, learning and food) and turned them into three beautiful short films, titled MOVE, EAT, and LEARN. In the process, they also documented the trip of a lifetime. Watch MOVE below: Pretty incredible, eh? Be sure to check out both EAT and LEARN as well!
Maurice Sendak, the legendary author and illustrator, passed away on Tuesday at 83 . While he was the author and/or illustrator of more than 50 books , Sendak was best known for his 1963 classic, "Where the Wild Things Are," which chronicles the adventures of Max as he makes his way through -- and ultimately comes to rule -- an imaginary kingdom of Wild Things. Sendak was not known to hold back in interviews, whether he was speaking about politicians or reflecting on his own life.
“Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters — sometimes very hastily — but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
