Tree-Inspired Table Features Steel Branches, Trunk & Roots

This design really gets back to the roots of structural engineering, taking its cues from the natural environment – specifically, a many-branched tree. From JBomers Design , the concept is clearly seen in the finished product, but subtly functions like a real branch system, too, tapering toward the center to provide space at ‘ground level’ then branching back out into a top canopy. The details and materials work as well – the top itself comes from a 200-year-old oak, and the branches below make an appearance as they come up through it before being cut off, flush with the surface.

http://dornob.com/tree-inspired-table-features-steel-branches-trunk-roots/#axzz2OxeDnBGY
An accent light from the Paleozoic Postmodern. Sleek, shelly, streamlined, glows from within like an ice sculpture framed by singed bamboo.
