Boe-Bot. BOE–Bot is short for Board of Education robot.

Boe-Bot

It is the trade name of a robot kit that is used in American college and high school robotics classes. It consists of a main circuit board (the Board of Education), a plug–in microcontroller, two servo motors to drive the wheels, a bread board and an aluminum chassis that the parts bolt onto. Students can use erector set parts, lego blocks, and additional servos to build custom projects. Main components of the Boe-Bot[edit] The green detachable main circuit, mounted on the top of the robot is called the Board of Education . There is no soldering required.[3] Boe–Bot features[edit] Logo (programming language) "Logo" is not an acronym.

Logo (programming language)

It was derived from the Greek logos meaning word or "thought" by Feurzeig,[3] to distinguish itself from other programming languages that were primarily numbers, not graphics or logic, oriented. Logo is generally known as an interpreted language, although recently there have been developed compiled Logo dialects—such as Lhogho or Liogo. Free Math Video Lessons and Tutorials. Data visualization and art Artist and scientist Stephen von Worley announced the launch of a new blog, Data Pointed, showcasing his data visualization research. “One part magazine and two parts blog”, the site tells the story of von Worley’s own data visualizations, and surveys choice picks from others. The lead story covers the results of the XKCD color name survey, illustrating the entertaining differences in the way different genders refer to colors.

Across the top, witness the nuanced verbal repertoire of feminine color differentiation. The visualization shows colors organized horizontally by hue, and vertically by gender preference. 4 Tools for Teaching Kids to Code. In a recent PC Pro article, Professor Steven Furber, developer of the ARM microprocessor, laments the sharp decline in interest in computer science classes in the UK.

And although the U.S. hasn't seen that same drop in enrollment, a recent survey of some 14,000 U.S. high school teachers by the Computer Science Teachers Association found that only 65% of respondents taught in a school that offered some sort of introductory computer science course. As our world becomes more tech-oriented, educators are faced with not just teaching children how to use computers, but how to build and program them as well.

"We need to get students interested in computer science and that has to be done at an early age before they decide (incorrectly) that they can't do computer science or that it is dull and boring," says Alfred Thompson, Microsoft's K-12 Computer Science Academic Relations Manager. THE USE OF ROAMER TURTLE AS A CONSTRUCTIVIST TOOL IN EARLY LEARNING

Does an early understanding of these concepts help in later mathematical understanding? It would certainly seem that if a young child is exposed to several different ways of looking at shape and number, then their enhanced experiences may lead to a fuller understanding.
