It was Paul Larkin who got me thinking about the role of Twitter among the Celtic support when he asked me to write a piece on social media for his forthcoming book and while this is not my piece I would like to share some of the themes I cover in it. I grew up in a place where Celtic hardly ever featured in the mainstream media, but there was just something about those green and white hoops even on a flickering black and white TV set that set them apart.
I don’t remember ever seeing Celtic in a full league game on TV until much later but as a kid you depended on what you got in the media. My passion for Celtic was forever moderated by the media.
