If an Electric Bike Is Ever Going to Hit It Big in the U.S., It's This One. CAMBRIDGE, Mass. —On a sunny but brisk spring morning near the Charles River in Cambridge, I took a test ride on the bicycle of the future. No rockets or lasers (alas), the bicycle of the future looks pretty much like the bicycle of the present.
But with the first pumps of my feet on the pedals, I felt the difference. The bike wasn't just moving, it was pushing, adding extra propulsion to my own pedaling, giving me a boost with every revolution of the pedals. Faster than expected, I reached the end of a quiet block leaning into a corner. I took a straightaway for a few blocks and pushed 20 miles an hour without hardly trying. The bike I tested was equipped with the Copenhagen Wheel, an electric pedal-assist motor fully contained in the oversized red hub of an otherwise normal back bicycle wheel.
With its focus on design and simple application of complex technology, the Copenhagen Wheel is perhaps the sleekest version of the electric bike. The electric bicycle is a relatively new idea. Le Président, avec beaucoup d’humour, a accepté de signer le mot d’excuse du jeune homme. C’est sans doute le professeur du lycéen qui a du être surpris !!
Retrouvé plus tard par un journaliste de BFMTV, le jeune homme l’a laissé immortalisé son mot d’absence hors du commun, en photo. Now the Dubai police want to take it all to the streets. Reuters reports that the city is going to start equipping officers with Glass so they can use facial recognition to look for wanted criminals. A Dubai police spokesperson told the 7 Days newspaper that custom-made software will allow the officers’ Glass to sync with a database of faces. That way if police officers encounter wanted crooks, their eyewear can alert them. The Dubai police department will do a pilot phase where officers wear Glass to track traffic violations and look for offending vehicles.
Each Glass costs $1,500, a price point that Reuters points out is in line with Dubai police’s $400,000 Lamborghinis. If you made a list of all the non-game mobile apps that have more than 10mm MAUs, it would be a pretty short list. It probably would not look much different than the top 100 or 150 free apps in the iOS and Android app stores without all the games.
